Rain, wind, and heavy storms can all wreak havoc on your home and, of course, your roof. Damage to your roof can be a serious cause for concern, but many homeowners put off getting the roof repair they need. Here are the biggest reasons you should repair your roof right away and how repairs save you money in the long run! Roof Damage Worsens Over Time A damaged roof isn’t going to get better by itself and will only worsen over time, putting the safety of you and your family at risk. Although it can be tempting to shrug off minor damage to your roof as an inconvenience, immediate repairs with the help of a roof repair contractor prevent even minor issues from becoming larger ones. Roof damage, be it big or small, needs prompt attention to prevent it from worsening. So even … [Read more...]
Why We Are Considering Adopting a Pet.

The never ending love from a pet. Recently, friends of ours adopted a new dog. This seems to happen on an almost continuous basis according to my social media feed. Family members just brought home an adopted yellow lab only last week. We already own a dog. He is two and he is finally settling down a bit. Is it time to consider adopting a pet to give him a little friend and company? If you ask him he is totally on board with that idea. This idea of adopting a pet is what comes into our minds each time we see another friend or family member add a rescue to their own life. Chief Brody loves the snow. Before this cutie came into our life we looked everywhere for our next pet. Rescues, breeders, shelters, you name it we looked at it probably five times. Our search went from … [Read more...]

Cruisin’ in Style

Next weekend I set sail on my first cruise. I'll be visiting the Bahamas and Haiti with one of my dear friends and fellow Beachbody coach. She earned this trip last year through all her hard work and kick ass coaching and is taking me along with her! I'm so excited to escape the final chill of winter and be bathed in warm Caribbean sun for a whole week. We have a few theme nights like 90s night (I feel ancient now...) and a White party plus time spent in Nassau soaking up the sun and some time with dolphins as well as a safari snorkeling adventure in Haiti, I was really hoping for a small shark encounter, but I guess I'll have to wait for our next trip. After the last few months of winter and some hard times emotionally within my home, I think this is a definite need and … [Read more...]

Security Tips to Guarantee Your Safety While Driving
Photo credit: Alex Jumper Most people feel completely safe while driving their cars. Whether they are going across town or across the country, they are in their own world while in their automobile. The sad truth is, driving a car can make you a target for some crimes. We will give you some expert tips that will help you remain safe while driving. Problem - Automatic Door Locks Most cars come with automatic door locks. Drivers feel they are safe because their car locks the doors for them. The Three S’s- Do you do them?

I have been talking about the Three S's over at my FB group, Stronger Than Yesterday. Silence, Solitude, and Stillness. Do you have a solitude or silence trigger? I know I do. I find that my illness has made me reclaim the 'Three S's' in my life. I thought I could do without them and I would often find myself crying in silence, feeling overwhelmed and intensely exhausted. When I became sick last winter my days were reduced to silence. Not only was my hearing going, with some days one ear would just completely lose its hearing, but I could no longer multi-task or get up off the couch. Intense pain seeped into my bones. I found yoga helped reduce the pain and offered five minutes of silence and stillness at the end of each session. It was a saving grace. Some days my vision … [Read more...]

Transform Your Life-Day 1

Let's take a little journey- you and me- this winter. It's all about TRANSFORMATION. If you are in my Facebook group, Stronger Than Yesterday, then you know what I'm talking about and how it is so much more than a workout program. It's about Transforming Your Life. It's Transformation Tuesday, Y'all! Yesterday was a tough one for me. Snow day. A Monday and I just wasn't feeling it. I felt stressed, depressed, overwhelmed, and angry. Blech. 😟 Today I woke up weary but after an hour in my office doing my morning routine I felt peace. Ready for battle. I felt able to TACKLE the day in a graceful way because I took the time to collect my thoughts, sit in solitude and plan out my day. That small ritual has been HUGE in helping me 'be the change' I want to be in my life and … [Read more...]
