I have a confession to make. 🌱Transformation doesn't happen overnight. The last year of my life is pure proof of that. There were days I thought I had beat the diseases running rampant within my body only to fall a few steps backward and have to rebuild again. Now there are more good days than bad. Now I see a future and it looks wildly different than I ever imagined. I'm full of more joy. I see more wonder in the world. I think that was all part of the plan too. One of the best things I did to heal was to KEEP MOVING no matter how unmotivated I felt there was always a walk, yoga or something gentle until I can build strength again. Today? My body may not be in remission but it is STRONGER than it was before I got sick. How Crazy Is That? My doctor is amazed … [Read more...]
Back to School for Moms Means Wardrobe Refresh
We go back to school next week. I'm wavering between ecstatic joy that the endless sibling arguing will be over and then feeling sad that our carefree summer is coming to a close. Who Doesn't Love Fall & Back to School Time? Back to school shopping is when my early bird personality has us finishing up our back to school supply and clothes shopping in early August. Honestly, I do most of it online to avoid in aisle fighting, crowds, lines, all of it. Ask me how I buy clothes for my tween? I let her fill up store carts online and then we go through the carts together with our budget in mind and make choices together. It's way less stress in the store, issues in the dressing room and it actually makes it fun for her and me to work together. I started doing it with the younger two this … [Read more...]

An estimated 20% of the U.S. population will be over 65 by 2030. While more and more public transportation options are being developed and implemented in various parts of the country, many senior citizens still rely on their own driving abilities to get around safely. That being said, senior citizens often face a unique set of challenges that make it more important than ever to invest in a car that's safe and reliable. Here are just a few safety features all seniors should consider when shopping for their next vehicle. Advanced Airbag Technology There are approximately 6 million car accidents in the U.S. each year, and airbags have saved countless lives during these accidents. Everything Your Car Needs Before Your Summer Family Road Trip

It's summer! With constant sunshine and a few weeks of vacation, there's no better time to pack up the car and head out on a sightseeing adventure with the family. Once you've planned your route, packed your bags, and selected a suitable mixtape for the journey, there's one last thing you need to take care of: your vehicle. It may be a hassle, but it's definitely worth it; a recent survey discovered that an estimated 77% of cars are in need of maintenance repairs, and you really don't want to be stuck in a broken down car on what was supposed to be a fantastic summer family vacation. Adventure comes in the form of the open road and exotic destinations, not in a sweaty, overweight mechanic named Bud. Start with the basics. Your car generally needs an oil change every 5,000 to 7,500 … [Read more...]
Here’s How Some of the Most Common Summertime Beverages Help (or Hurt) Your Teeth

According to an AACD survey, virtually all adults (99.7%) surveyed believe a healthy smile is socially important, but it's medically important as well. While most people are aware of the ways that certain foods affect our dental health, not everyone stops to think about how beverages can do the same. This summer, maintain your healthy smile and be more conscious of your oral health by staying hydrated with the right beverages. Here's how some of the most popular U.S. beverages affect your teeth. Energy Drinks Many people consume sports drinks and/or energy drinks throughout the day to keep their energy levels up. While neither is great for your teeth, energy drinks are definitely worse. As much as sports drinks are harmful to your teeth, researchers found that exposure to energy drinks … [Read more...]
Restoring Your Natural Neck Contour is Easier Than You Thought

If you’re like most women, you took your tight, smooth, and contoured neckline for granted until somewhere around your 30th or 40th birthday, at which point you realized that your skin won’t stay that way forever. Though the majority of cosmetic anti-aging products and treatments focus on facial wrinkles, the neck needs just as much TLC. Fortunately, botox injections such as dermal fillers in Norfolk, VA or dermal fillers in Edmonton, AB and other treatments like this neck lift in Sacramento, CA and non-surgical facelift in Staten Island, NY, which are administered or performed by a dermatology expert, can also help reduce wrinkles on your face and neck. You don’t need to undergo an elaborate plastic surgery or expensive laser treatment to reverse the signs of aging along your … [Read more...]
One-Piece Suits Aren’t Just Having a Moment: They’ve Always Been Revolutionary

Although the bikini has long reigned supreme as the height of "beach appeal" in mainstream media, the one-piece still quietly remains the most popular suit option among swimsuit shoppers. In the past couple years, the one-piece has had an emerging moment as the new understated queen of swimwear. If you're still unconvinced of how fabulous the one-piece suit actually is, here are some excellent facts to change your mind. Swimming pools used to be commonly called "swimming tanks", hence why a one-piece might be called a "tank suit" or have a "tank top." Australian swimmer, actress, and boss lady Annette Kellerman was arrested in 1907 for wearing a one-piece swimming suit. The "figure suit" she invented, an early-one piece bathing suit that completely challenged conservative Victorian … [Read more...]
The Best of The J.Crew Factory Clear Out
I have been a fan of J.Crew since I first laid eyes on the catalog back in the early 90s. I confess to wearing the hell out of a bright orange windbreaker throughout both high school and college so much that my Dad threatened to burn it if I didn't retire it. You know what? I still had it after I got married. That's when H stepped in and asked that it be thrown out for the love of all that is holy. When J.Crew Factory came on the scene online and near my house years back? I near lost my mind with the sales. It gets better. Right now J.Crew Factory is hosting their CLEAR OUT sale and it is so good. That means you can take an additional 50% OFF already reduced prices. Just a few of my favorites to help get you started. Use the code CLEAROUT to get your savings of up to … [Read more...]
Summer Driving Safety

Summer time. A time when Americans hit the road for a series of adventures that involve a lot of time in the car with loved ones. That's why summer driving safety makes for an important and timely topic, especially because during the months of June, July, and August we see about 29% more road deaths than in winter months, making it the most dangerous driving season. I know for me I can get distracted with everyone in the car asking for one more snack, to look at that crazy car or roadside oddity. It's a wonder we get where we are going. Alarms.org created this infographic to help us out this summer. … [Read more...]
