Faux Fur Favorites

I can't explain and really what need to I have to do so? I absolutely adore faux fur.  Coats, gloves trimmed in faux fur, hats, scarves, all of it.  I can't get enough.  I'm so glad that this season is indulging me so much too. Last week I pulled out my faux fur scarf and snood.  I draped myself in the leopard coat I bought from Shopbop on sale back in July. My children were and are still mortified.  Buy some coats from the affiliate links to pay for their therapy later, would you? Then my husband surprised me with this black beauty.  As he came in from a hug and a kiss after a long day he draped it over my shoulders and I couldn't stop smiling and laughing. I wore it for a solid hour in my house. I might get one just to use as a bathrobe. I love it that much. My children don't … [Read more...]

3 Ways You Can Make Your Family Car Last Longer

It's no secret that cars can last a while with full coverage car insurance, proper maintenance and care. In fact, the average vehicle on the road in 2017 was 10.1 years old, according to the U.S. Bureau of Transportation. With car prices steadily increasing and interest rates climbing on auto loans, it's more important than ever to make sure your family car stays in great shape. Even though Eisenhower added more than 42,000 miles of highway to the country back in the 1950s, traveling such long distances demand a little online research. After all, the last thing you want to worry about during the holiday season is your family vehicle biting the dust on the way to Grandma's house. Fortunately, there are a few ways you can make your family vehicle last longer without worrying about … [Read more...]

Jane for the Holidays

I have a secret. I buy A LOT of things from Jane.com.  Especially when it comes to the holidays and seasonal items for the home.  However, I also buy some really cute clothes and accessories from there.  Every time I wear an item from there someone asks about it too.  Full of different vendors and always new items I am a huge fan of this fun site. (not sponsored) Favorites Right Now (get them while they last!) I pulled the trigger and bought this coat.  My kids are MORTIFIED. I don't care. It's warm. I love it and it makes me happy every time I wear it. I bought a pair of these in leggings in black last year.  I wore them on New Year's Eve.  It was a pajama/cozy themed party and these were a hit.  They are leggings after all. :) These velvet gloves dress up my peacoat … [Read more...]

Always Mad for Plaid

Maybe it is because I was an 80s child and a teen in the 90s but I have always been mad for plaid.  The traditional pleated skirts I wore as a private school kid in the 1980s. The fabulous 70s a-line skirts my mother wore when I was little with heeled boots. Then the plaid flannel shirts, more pleated skirts and oh those plaid stockings and leggings I could NOT stop wearing in high school. I love plaid.  Always and forever. Amen. The holiday season is officially here.  So long Halloween, make way for the burnt oranges, browns and golden yellow plaids that deepen our love for fall.  Then turn your eyes on the darker black plaids, brilliant reds and gorgeous green plaids that fill the holiday season in the month of December. My Favorite Finds: Madewell Harvest Sweater I love this … [Read more...]

Farewell to the Ford Flex

It was this very same time of year back in 2010 when I reviewed the Ford Flex back in 2010.  Yes, I am talking about cars again and with a bit of nostalgia. Why? Because I hold fond memories of this flat-roof, rib-sided wagon-like mobile. 2011 Ford Flex (mummysproductreviews.com) The Flex: What is it? When the Ford Flex arrived we had our third kid only a few months before. I was intrigued by the idea of having a car that was like both an SUV and a station wagon.  How would it drive? What kind of storage did this vehicle contain? In the end, what the heck is it?  Is it a crossover or an SUV? Maybe it is a station wagon? "If you took an SUV and mated it with a station wagon you would get the Ford Flex.” -Dominic Mason, my husband.   What looked like a funky mix of a wagon and … [Read more...]
