Eight Weeks

I woke up this morning and realized that Dash Two is eight weeks old now. My, how time flies. I'm back at the gym, she has slept through the night for the first time and no matter what we do she is growing up at a remarkably fast pace. Those tiny baby days are gone already. She is reaching milestones at lightening speed and it was at this point with TD that I was already back at work. While I'm still not feeling out of the woods yet as far as PPD goes, I do know that my bad bout with it coincided with my going back to work. Oddly enough, it is this same week in Dash Two's life that I'm heading out of town for the first time. I know she will be in good hands and if anything happens we have a plan but it just amazes me how fast time goes and how small she seems. I had no choice with TD. I had … [Read more...]

Wouldn’t You Like to Get Away?

Yesterday was just like that bad. I had my woman doctor appointment and I got that whole "I'm mad that I'm female thing " going on, which rarely happens, except when I'm the one who has to deal with the whole birth control issue and my craptastic insurance won't cover what is probably the "best" option for me and I decide fuck it, I don't care. I'm getting the fucking IUD and I'll just make payments on my uterus or what have you. Thanks Mirena! Does my uterus owe you interest each month too? Anyways... then I head to my gym determined to be in a better mood because HUZZAH! it's time to sign up Dash Two for the gym daycare. Only there's this big ol' note on the front door and while it's after 9 a.m. the gym is really dark. Huh. Oh right- because they are closed. For. Ever. WTF?! And then I … [Read more...]

Back in the Saddle Again, Almost

The annoyance at Christmas music should have been my first clue. I wanted to rip the radio out of the wall each time I heard 'Jingle Bells'. 'It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas' seemed overly sarcastic in its tone and suddenly made me cringe instead of smile with content. The throwing away of many Christmas goodies was the second clue. It was time to start working out again. Time to start clearing my brain before I became hostile. Actually, it was a bit too late for becoming hostile. How about overly hostile? Throw in nearly 70 degree temps outside and it became a no-brainer. The sky was a deep steel grey that threatened rain at any moment and the warm wind whipped around in a damp breeze that might make others stay inside. Not me though, I was bound and determined from the time … [Read more...]

On a Car Seat Campaign

Well, after being buffed, painted, massaged and fed many yummy treats (Can I eat just one more croissant? My thighs! Oh my pregnant touching thighs!) I am apparently going to get to work today. Graco has thoughtfully taken care of everything the last few days, and in quite a quick fashion I must say, and now it's time to get down to bizness.I'll be installing a car seat for demonstration (um.. I don't even do this in my own life. If H is out of town I have to call a neighbor. For reals y'all. Ooh look I've turned southern after only two days in ATL.) and you'll all eventually get to hear my funny anecdotes and parenting "advice" or tips along with some other really cool bloggers. Let's hope I don't hurl from the excitement. Really. I could and all over some lovely Graco gear. … [Read more...]

Unexpected Surprises

This weekend was full of unexpected surprises. From pee on the floor not once, not twice and no, not even thrice times! Ah, potty training in all its glory....To family dropping (if you all had a blog, I would plug you!) by for a casual dinner and watching our girls play.To Graco extending an offer I could not refuse. Details to come later.... is the suspense killing you? It is for me.To Father's Day spent scouting out the sights at Mt. Vernon. Educational fun with sullen teens serving ice cream! Kick ass! Actually it kind of was. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the father of our countries home- finally. I mean, I've lived 15 minutes from it for almost five years and never gone. Eesh! And to everyone that was there? I wasn't really going to push that old broad off the cliff to get a … [Read more...]

The Final Countdown (Could you stop with the music by Europe now?!)

Fine. Here. Have your music and let's get on with it.I hurt. Many, many places today.Ow.My armpits are sore. I think I may have pulled an ear muscle. My obliques are shaking. Did I mention that I'm in pain? All over.I finally kicked started myself into going to the gym. I've been about once a week this month if that, excluding the week I was projecting mucus from my lungs. I decided that I needed more motivation than just howling at my saddle bags while I stand naked in my bathroom in the morning. They just sort of laugh at me now and it isn't enough to keep me going. I laugh back at them and we have started calling it a day. That being said I developed a plan (if you are picturing me rubbing my hands together like some Duddly Do-right villain you are spot on.)that combines me staying … [Read more...]
