It’s finally felt like fall around here for at least a week now. I decided to layer up a gingham shirt I found in a thrift store a few years ago and pair some opaque tights with my freshly polished boots (thank you, H!) with a super comfortable t-shirt style dress I found at Target this summer. It’s become one of my favorite fall pieces. It’s lightweight and versatile making it fun to dress up or down.

Meet my co-host for the week, Ashley from Fancy Stuff & Pretty Things! We met not so long ago when she stated that we had similar styles and it’s true! Each time I visit her blog, which was a quick forming habit, I think, “I have that!” or “I would TOTALLY wear that!” Her latest post about being a Joan not a Betty was spot on. Ashley’s style is classic with a modern spin. It’s clean, elegant and beautiful. I’m sure you will love her too!
The rules are simple:

I love the whole outfit! I’m impressed that you could get the button-up to lay so flat under the dress! For me it would be all bunched up in all the wrong places! 🙂

That was a big concern of mine in layering but this particular shirt is almost tissue-thin. It works great for layering!

I have a couple of sweater dresses myself which I’ll have to try wearing over a shirt and see whether it doesn’t look too stuffed. Yours is looking great, no weird wrinkles etc. I also love your necklace!

I totally need more tops like the gingham and I love it layered. I always feel bulky, I need to step out of my comfort zone. Great look lady.

Thank you so much for joining the #reasonstodress real mom street style linkup! I’m so glad you joined and invited me to this awesome linkup!! I will add your badge and join this wednesday and I’ll be sure to visit these lovely ladies.
I really love your t-shirt dress, I have to admit thought you are so THIN you can totally pull this off. I would be worried about how buttons from the dress shirt etc. sat underneath but it actually looks so polished and smooth. A very put together easy look.
I would love to have you join me again tomorrow for the linkup , if you get a chance a link back somewhere on your post or blog is much appreciated.
Nice to meet you Victoria you have a new regular, and I would LOVE to co-host this linkup with you!
