Earlier this year I announced that one of my goals was to get one facial a month. It would allow me time to relax but also start treating my skin better in a way that shows a real difference when done repeatedly over time. The first place I stopped was Skincando at the Emerald Door Spa to get an Eco-Facial with Sara, which was recommended by my friend, Jessica.

I have never been so happy with the results of a facial in my life. I normally only get one or two facials a year this one at the Emerald Door Spa was quite far from my home, was worth every mile in DC traffic. I would consider going back again without question because Sara was amazing. Her products are luxurious and hand-mixed. I left there with glowing skin that actually stayed that way for over a week. I didn’t even feel that I needed make-up! In fact, I’ve worn less every day make-up since that facial. I think the combination of the peel, serum, ultrasonic dermabrasion (I’m in deep love with this “power washing” of the skin) and serum made a huge impact. My skin was brighter, more even in skin tone and it looked and felt plumper. I think I might have actually said, “squishier” to Sara.
I even bought products that Sara recommended and I never do that. Sara took the time to discuss her reasons for creating her own products and supporting and using the items that line her shelves. Women-owned companies, small batch, natural ingredients and more. I knew I had to test them out. When it was all over and I set out into the blustery winter day with a little bonus. Sara pressed a jar of Skincando Kids Combat-Ready Balm into my hands saying, “Just try it out and if you like it, let others know. It works like Neosporin, but better.”
My oldest daughter had been scratched on her cheek by her younger sister. It was deeper than most scratches and not healing as I had hoped after a few days of regular antibiotic ointment. That night I applied the Combat-Ready Balm to her face. I did it again twice a day for five days and was so impressed with the results. When I had my laser surgery on my facial sun spots a week later I used it on each scab and my face healed in record time without a trace of redness or scarring. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT and I have been singing its praises ever since. Seriously, not just for kids and Moms. Skincando is fantastic! It’s one of those products we will always stock now.
I almost feel bad for the next facial, it will be hard to live up to Sara and her style.
