Pony Royale Review

This post is sponsored by Pony Royale. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

My girls love ponies.  They love things that sparkle and shine.  They also like to collect tiny pieces of glittery objects and stick them to things.  They could be magpies but they are just your typical little girls and this latest toy, Pony Royale was just the type of toy to really get them excited.

What is Pony Royale?

We hosted a Pony Royale Princess party last week with about 12 other girls and it was a big hit!  Pony Royale combines the art of fashion dolls and ponies together to create a fun, alternative and imaginative play experience.  Geared for ages 3-8, Pony Royale features beautiful princess ponies (12 in the collection) that each represent a month in the year.  Each pony has a birth stone set into its forehead and girls can choose a pony according to birth month or individual taste.

I set out all 12 ponies on display for the party.  I opted to let the girls attending choose their own style and not go by birth month/birthstone.  They were all so excited to check out these new toys and there was lots of whispers, squealing and a few intense discussions on the variety of choices.  Each pony comes with a hair brush, two sets of mane and tail hair, a saddle and other accessories like hair pieces and jewelery.

Immediately the girls went to work switching out hair, combing manes and trading the accessories.  Pony Royale doesn’t just offer fashion play it allows the girls to nurture a pony and provide many hours of creative play.  I saw this in many forms depending on the ages of the girls during the party. There was no need for special instructions or directed play, except for the brief fashion show we put on at the end of the party.  Pony Royale is all about creative open-ended play.  Kids and parents alike loved the Pony Royale video and both wanted to know if a show or movie would soon be happening.

We had the party on Thursday morning and six days later my girls are still playing with their ponies non-stop.  They play with them all over the house and even bring them outside.  The little boys on our block ages 3-5 want to play with them too.  They are all equally fascinated and in love with the choices they have in how to change the ponies and how easy it is to do this task. The hair just slides out and clicks in place but in a manner that is simple, straight-forward and in a way that even a young three year-old can do it.  All the accessories are the same way.

Day two of non-stop pony play.

The Pony Royale collection will be available at Toys R Us in late July and in select Target stores in August.

Visit the Pony Royale website for more information. Look for Princess Ponies in stores starting late July! Meanwhile, be sure to check out Pony Royale’s Facebook page and follow them on Twitter!

They had a great time! They didn’t want to leave. It was a total blast and I love this toy. It’s not trashy or cheap looking and it’s easy to use and very fun.
