What I Wore Wednesday

Dude.  I .  Well…

I’m at a loss. I thought after being away for about a week I would feel all invigorated and want to just jump back into life and work.

Meh.  Not so much.

Life, yes.  I mean save the laundry and grocery shopping with three handsy kids who move like molasses in January but horray for bubbles! Baking! Pool time and reading books on the couch together when the afternoon sun heats up our little ‘hood to scorching.

As for what I’ve been wearing it’s a mixed bag of khaki shorts, swimsuits, bathing suit cover-ups and v-neck tees without a sparkle or bling to be seen.  It’s like the intensity of the summer sun has sucked out all my creativity.

The Fourth had me pool-side and wearing something a lot like this but mine was an old outlet white eyelet skir from DKNY, Merona navy tank from Target and gold sandals from there too. The scarf I tied as a headband in my hair and was from TJ Maxx by Oscar de la Renta.

Then there are days like this-

When I’m working at home and can only manage to throw on this navy dress from H&M paired with a satin ribbon/rhinestone necklace I found on clearance at Target months ago and made into a bracelet.

or

Dress like a watermelon when I am out running errands with the kids all day. Sunglasses from Old Navy.

Green shorts from J Crew and pink tee by Merona. Green bracelet is vintage from my Mother. She wore it when she was young.

Maybe next week I’ll feel more inspired fashion-wise. For now, I’m concentrating on going to the gym, hitting the pool, making cool summer treats and taking photos of it all. Happy Wednesday! Don’t forget to visit the Pleated Poppy for more Wiww looks!

You look great! Love the bracelets! If I had a work at home job I probably would just lounge around in my pj’s! 🙂

Summer is always hard to feel inspired because I spend most of my time in a swim suit at the pool with my kids. Although I do love pretty sundresses, so that helps!:) Love your colors!
