Lace Your Face

That's right, you heard me.  Lace your face.  It's my newest venture into cloth face masks.  I can't even call it a venture. It is a downright obsession. It's weird, sometimes looks creepy, but totally worth it and takes less time than you might think.  I'm in love and it is with a natural cotton lace on my face. I can't stop saying it either. … [Read more...]

2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE AWC

Source: veamason "It's short and squatty." That is just what my five year-old first said when she took a look at the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE AWC.  This four-door crossover SUV arrived at my door in a sharp Mercury Gray with black interior.  It did look short and squat, but so what, it is a crossover SUV.   The grill has a predatory look to it that always makes me smile and it zips around highways with a speed that surprised me. Here's why. … [Read more...]

Gingham Shirt & Layers

It's finally felt like fall around here for at least a week now. I decided to layer up a gingham shirt I found in a thrift store a few years ago and pair some opaque tights with my freshly polished boots (thank you, H!) with a super comfortable t-shirt style dress I found at Target this summer.   It's become one of my favorite fall pieces.  It's lightweight and versatile making it fun to dress up or down. … [Read more...]

Pumpkins Scream in the Dead of Night

It should surprise no one that this is my favorite week in my most favorite month.  The annual viewing of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' has commenced.  Next up! The Shining!  I don't know about you but I have movies I view certain times of the year that go well beyond Christmas flicks. I threw this latest outfit together in five seconds.  I just grabbed the closest things in my closet, knowing it was 42 outside and I had a day of working from home and a laundry monster nipping at my heels.  The brown booties I snagged at Target a few weeks back were finally going to see some action and so was my cable knit sweater that I loved so much last year.  It is super soft and very warm.  No jacket needed! … [Read more...]

2015 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD

Source: veamason I have always had a thing for dark blue cars.  I wanted a navy sedan years ago and ended up with desert sand beige. The Deep Crystal Blue on a Mazda CX-5 is a beautiful thing.  Much like the Soul Red 2014 version I reviewed last year ,  the Mazda colors have depth and the sleek lines on the car stand out making the Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring with AWD an attractive small crossover SUV.  … [Read more...]

Fall Reading

I'm not one for crafts or going crazy with decorations but I do love to dive into books year round. For some reason maybe it has something to do with the start of the a new school year, I become obsessed with new books for the family every fall. Especially if the books have to do with fall. … [Read more...]

The Wooly Pully

We hit up the pumpkin patch on Sunday, bright and early.  It was BLUSTERY.  There is no other way to describe the low temps and winds whipping through the air.  I was all set with a cute cableknit sweater when H said, "I think you need something more."  Since the kids were already in the car I grabbed a sweater off the shelf that has seen a life very different from the one it keeps today. The Wooly Pully.   … [Read more...]

Join Me for a Day of Beauty

Spending Saturday morning going through a long, involved, relaxing and necessary 'day of beauty' happens in haste or not at all now that the kids have their own lives budding and blossoming before our eyes.  Throw on a mask here, exfoliate over there, slap on some polish and don't forget to shave!  It's not my dream. It's just the reality. This Saturday will be a bit different. … [Read more...]
