This week I'm so excited to have Carylee from More Pieces of Me guest posting over here about her new Audi A6! A gorgeous car to be sure and Carylee proves that fashion and cars are a match made in heaven. Hey, everyone! I'm Carylee and I blog over at More Pieces of Me. I recently acquired this gorgeous 2014 Audi A6 Prestige Supercharge Quattro with the black optic package in Daytona Grey. I got excited to try it asap. I was so flattered and excited when Vicky asked me to do a guest post not only about my new car, but about an outfit inspired by the car! Wow! How fun! … [Read more...]
Style Inspiration: Angelina Jolie
Growing up in New England I was pretty traditional in my color choices. Lots of navy, red, white, khaki and a whole lot of black. Black was my color pick of every occasion, it is classic and never goes out of style. It worked with my personality and always made me feel comfortable. It wasn't exciting but it worked. As I edged out of my twenties and into my thirties I found a friend was pushed my no color boundaries and suddenly I found myself grabbing yellows, greens and aqua, even light pink to wear on a daily basis. Honestly, it was scary but also a tiny bit freeing. As the years past my wardrobe glowed with color. I reveled in it. … [Read more...]
Laid Back Weekend
This weekend was what you would call laid back in our household. There was time for the gym, reading books, some time at church and the pool. I feel like balance can be hard, even in the summer, when you have a family with a few kids. The older they get the busier we get as a family and as they create their own individual lives. I love it, but it can get crazy. Nights out with H seem more necessary now than they did when the girls were wee ones who couldn't talk quite so much. Heh. I love it but time together is precious and I revel in each little moment. Spending it with H at an outdoor concert after a delicious dinner out was just the way to kick off the weekend. … [Read more...]
Vacation & Madras Plaid
What a week! Just back from our week-long Fourth of July beach vacation I am still trying to get back out of vacation mode. I don't really want to try that hard. I decided I wasn't ready to give up summer style. More than seven days in a bathing suit, cover-up and casual shorts and tees was refreshing. I loved not wearing accessories of any sort and just throwing on a pair of white canvas kicks and keeping my hair straightener and products tucked away for a week. … [Read more...]
The Red, White and Blue
It can't be the week of the Fourth of July without showing a little red, white and blue! I picked up these shorts from Target last year and I can't stop wearing them. … [Read more...]
4th of July Style Inspiration
Looking for something beyond the red, white and blue that is so prevalent this week? Sandy, from Fashnboucou, and my guest blogger today offers up a few looks that will really set you apart this holiday. You can dress in patriotic spirit without being so literal. Ditch the cliché red, white and blue, and add some color and prints to your look this 4th of July. Mix the trio of hues with flirty prints and textures, like florals and lace. Make red, white, and blue work together by throwing in a fourth hue and adding a vintage-y mix of prints. I paired a colorful and flirty midi skirt by Saloni with a feminine daisy lace cami. Mixing prints as I did with the skirt and GoJane quilted clutch keep your look unfussy and cool. The neutral accessories won't distract from the bold color … [Read more...]

Distressd Denim
Forget about showing off your softer side. The pastels of early spring were fun for a while, but now it is time to embrace the rougher look that is distressed denim. Show the wear and tear on that pair of ripped jeans, blue or white, and work it day or night. It’s easier and more fun than you think. Here’s how. Playing Dress Up Think you can’t be fancy in a pair of ripped Levi’s? Think again. … [Read more...]
White on White
We are in the final countdown with school. Two kids are out and one to go! I'm excited to start the summer and have a more relaxed schedule. Yesterday, was the first day I didn't have to do three different drop-offs and pick-ups. The day felt longer, quieter and less rigid. We had space to expand our ideas, learn new things and even eat all together versus in a race to the next destination. Can the rest of summer be like that, please? All that probably means I won't be partaking in the white on white look as much as I would like this summer. I love it. It just says summer to me. Carefree days, cool looks and a real relaxed way no matter what you are wearing. … [Read more...]
