5 Tips to Eat Paleo Affordably

Almost a year ago it took a six year-old having overhearing a conversation between H & I about how when I ate foods with gluten my ovarian cysts were worse.  The month I ate gluten-free was a whole other fabulous feeling story.  TD looked at me and said, "So why don't you just not eat gluten..."  Uh, right, kid. Thanks.  … [Read more...]

Remove the Breakables Mommy’s Feeling Joan Crawfordesque

What is it about those days when you have an early morning appointment that suddenly turns rational, normally sane people into total nut jobs? I schedule these appointments to a.) get them out of the way and b.) there is less wait and chaos in the doctor's office at that time of the morning. But it doesn't matter. I still no matter what time I get up, how much I plan and pack ahead somehow all hell breaks loose.1. Wake up early to get some work out of the way. Computer inexplicably shuts down. I take it as a sign to move on and shower.2. T.D. wakes up a full 45 minutes earlier than normal throwing off the flow. I bounce back as she is happy in her room with books and a sippy cup. Which makes me wonder, should she be off the sippy? No time to think of that now I must get ready!3. Stalk … [Read more...]

The Stepford Twitch

I've talked about how I have a tendency to overextend myself over here before. It seems I just don't learn my lesson. I wanted to cut down on reviews but have I done that? Nope. I just promise away, book myself into a corner and then reap the benefits/scheduling conflicts. More and more I find myself wishing for a whole day where the phone never rings, I resist the urge to check my email and I just sit and watch so much bad television I forget I have legs and my butt loses all feeling. Come to my house that day around 9 p.m. and I would be in a wasteland of Halloween hangover inducing candy, nacho detritus and pizza crusts. My hopeful ideas of going for a run usurped by an all too compelling episode of Rob & Big or America's Next Top Model. Sounds like heaven right about now. Wait! Let … [Read more...]

New Year, New Choices in a Compact Elliptical Machines

Courtesy of Unsplash by bruno_nascimento   During the Pandemic, we had lots of time to explore new and various types of fitness. One day you could go for a morning run or yoga session by the fireplace. The next day might consist of an evening stroll and a session with weights.  It was up to you to create your own fitness plan because the gym was suddenly not open.  Throughout it, especially as time went on and online school became a reality, my oldest daughter kept asking for a portable treadmill or elliptical machine under her desk. Enter the low-impact fitness brand, Cubii.  With three types of compact elliptical machines that are portable and whisper-quiet, we knew we had a solution.  Cubii has loads of accessories and works on all body types and ages.  I like to use it in … [Read more...]

There aren't many kids who would list taking care of their teeth and seeing the dentist as a couple of their favorite activities. And unfortunately, having tooth problems and needing extra dental care contributes to kids being afraid of and/or disliking brushing, flossing, and visiting the dentist. Early, deliberate actions in parenting can help kids to not only avoid self-induced dental problems, but also have a good attitude about taking care of their teeth. Here are some ideas to accomplish just that. Establish Positive Routines Babies and kids enjoy predictability. How to Plan for Your Future Today

Last spring my husband and I realized that we were in desperate need of some estate planning like the one on winrightlaw.com. Wills, a Trust, taking a second look at what type of life insurance we had and what the value of it was versus how much we were paying monthly for it.  Did any of it make sense for our lives as they evolved?  Would it do us any good? At the time we noticed that our term life insurance was wildly out of date.  We had no real plan or details and needed some solid advice.  We worked on it, created a plan that made sense for us and our budget such as a 401K to Gold Retirement Plan, and felt we were back on track. It is worth comparing retirement vehicles to determine which one is the most suitable option for you and your family. Well, things are changing again.  … [Read more...]

Best dating sites for over 50

Many local newspapers had online personals in the mid 1990s but were bought out by these big dating sites. From some of the comments it really shows how desperate dating sites are for money that they even advertise in comment sections. You have a much better chance going to local events and you will probably spend less than what you would spend on an online dating site, so you can find a partner to enjoy with, and even using toys you can get from sites like horsedildo.co.uk. Apart from dating platforms, you have the option to delve into the escort industry. If this piques your interest, here's a reliable website at darling.wien to consider for more information and potential experiences.
