My love for iconic earring styles especially hoop earrings began when I was a preteen. My grandmother gave me my Christmas present that year, probably a sweater, and then she presented me with a smaller box. She said, “This is from your grandfather.” I had never received a gift from just him before. I had a feeling it was really her but I opened up the tiny gift-wrapped box with its miniature bow and found a delicate pair of gold hoop earrings. I gasped. Then I immediately put the beautiful hoops on and never looked back. I wore them almost daily for the next 6-7 years until I became obsessed with wearing pearl studs.

Fast forward a few decades and I still own the original pair of hoop earrings but now I have an array of styles, widths, designs, etc. I cannot stop buying them in different hues of gold whether rose or white or even silver. I love chunky ones with embellishments. I like huggies that curve around your ear.

What are some of your favorite hoop earring styles?
Personally, I love a medium gold set that isn’t too tiny or too large. I have a small head, we need to balance things out. I love wearing them to work because they update any look I have whether it is a casual day or I’m throwing my hair up in a ponytail and some dry shampoo and need to add a little shine to my fit.
Which metal makes you swoon?
I have quite a few gold pairs of hoop earrings. I tend to go for that over anything else. I do own one set of very large silver hoops and a medium size that is quite thin. They were a go-to in my high school days and occasionally I still pull them out and wear them. The only type I don’t have is a set of rose gold. That’s next on my list!
