Spring Road Trip Style

*Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.  TMC was compensated for this post.  Opinions are 100% my own.    I love a good road trip.  Whether it is going down to the shore in the summer to visit my parents as a family or taking the girls on a spring break trip. That last one is my personal favorite because to me, spring means road trips.  A time when you can relax, take in some new sights, see spring in full effect and get a new perspective with all that fresh air. Naturally, I believe you need to look good doing it too. I'm talking spring road trip style. I'm in love with ModCloth and their romantic road trip style.  Think soft pastels, boho chic, buttery leather jackets, fabulous boots and flowered dresses.  It's so very spring and so very refreshing.  All of it … [Read more...]

Jumpsuits Under $50

I am a sucker for a jumpsuit every time. Wide leg pants are always a weakness for me. Every time I put on a pair or a jumpsuit I feel transported to another time.  Like the Golden Age of Hollywood or maybe Studio 54.  I love the swish, the practicality and one-step style.  I've compiled a list of my favorite jumpsuits all UNDER $50! … [Read more...]

With a Cherry on Top

Now that spring is here we tend to spend a lot of time outside.  In the new place we have replaced sitting on our front stoop with reading on the porch, running around the back yard, more yard work (which I sort of love because it is another excuse to get outside) and exercising outside with bikes, runs and long walks.  It's bliss! When it comes to our middle girl, The Comedian, she may have been a fall born baby but she is all spring.  From catching caterpillars, to tucking lady bugs into jars and just plain ol' digging in the dirt it is hard to keep her inside or clean.  If I can get her off to school without a hole in her pant leg or bugs in her pockets it is an easier morning.  But just like me she has her girly moments.  She knows a cute dress when she sees one.  This sweet … [Read more...]

Skirts & a Graphic Tee

It's not just last week's link up that had an array of graphic tee's paired with skirts but all over the online fashion community.  Whether it is a midi-length or skater skirt the casual and decidedly feminine look of the skirts mixed with the graphic t-shirt of your choice has become a go-to spring look.  We saw it last year but it has blossomed into full bloom for 2015. Just last week during the link up we saw these variations. Sandy a la Mode A Lovely Little Wardrobe Regally Soled I'm such a fan of this look for every day and weekend looks. It works in so many occasions and can be layered easily. Dress it up with a clutch and heels, throw on a sweater, denim jacket or blazer and add flats for a more casual take. It's effortless chic with a bit of fun thrown in.  The graphic … [Read more...]

Under the Hood with Barbara Terry

Heading into spring cleaning season, there is no better time to consider tuning up your car by making sure you are equipped with everything you need to drive safely and maintain your vehicle’s condition over time. The words “expensive” and “stressful” are often top of mind when car owners think about servicing their vehicles. National automotive expert Barbara Terry says that doesn’t have to be the case. Barbara is partnered with Cars.com to provide the information people need to make confident decisions when it comes to dealing with their cars. Tips for women and their cars: Educate yourself. The more you know about your car, the better off you will be. Knowledge is power. #SpringItOn with MinuteClinic

The rains came. For many when rain comes it is a welcome relief from the pollen and symptoms from allergies. For me, it is the total opposite. While I feel a minor itchiness or red, scratchy eyes on sunny days my real irritation is when the rain pours down and everything is being washed away. I totally thought that was the case this week when we had rainy day after rainy day. Turns out it was not allergies but a cold. Absolutely no fun. Except the first day I couldn't tell the difference. I loaded myself up on my "Allergy Arsenal" and was frustrated when I felt worse as the day dragged on. So how can you tell the difference between an allergy and a cold? I've teamed up with MinuteClinic to break it down for you as well as offer pointers on dealing with those pesky spring … [Read more...]

Sunny

Sunny. There is really no other way to describe it.  The sun has been out for days, the weather is warmer and like my long dormant yard I'm feeling sunny and alive again.  That's what sleep, a consistent exercise regime and deciding to just no longer care so much and let things play out can do for you. And like I said before, I took no time over spring break to get fabulous outfit pics.  And really, do you want more painter jean pics?  I didn't think so. Because that's what I wore for days as I painted even more things around my house.  This place is an HGTV host's dream.  Instead, I give you what I got.  Easter. Fashion stops for no one kid.  Except maybe a DIY project or three. You are never going to get us all perfect and at the same time.  Truth. SHOP THE … [Read more...]

The Daily Lace

It's spring break over here in our neck of the woods and I'm not going to lie.  While I may have wanted my kids to take their own little grandparent vacation sans parents, I decided to just go with the flow.  I'll be cramming as much work as I can into the wee morning hours so I can have some actual time off with my kids during the day to enjoy what just might be our first week of real spring weather. Huzzah! I'm relying on Best of the Link Up for this Monday!  There were so many looks I loved last week from Heather's J.Crew and gingham to Jenna at Visions of Vogue with her super floral spring look that just sings sunshine.  But for me, it was Irene from the Daily Lace and her mixes of patterns that really gave me spring fever! I feel like this isn't a common thing with many … [Read more...]
