Pasties and All

It's the season before I put on self-tanner! Come take a gander at my pasty gams! I no longer tan unless it comes from a tube or bottle and I just haven't thrown that into my daily routine yet. I'm trying my best to shop my own store called my closet these days because I really don't need anything. I came up with this look fast Monday morning as I scrambled out the door. I wore gladiator style sandals most of the day but changed into my wedge heels for the pictures. I think the sandals were a better fit. It might be my mission this season to find a way to wear these TOMS in a way I like.  I have had them for years and never can quite figure out what to do with them.   SHOP THE LOOK Black Forever21 Top (similar)/Merona Eyelet Shorts (similar) (similar)/BIG … [Read more...]

Sunny

Sunny. There is really no other way to describe it.  The sun has been out for days, the weather is warmer and like my long dormant yard I'm feeling sunny and alive again.  That's what sleep, a consistent exercise regime and deciding to just no longer care so much and let things play out can do for you. And like I said before, I took no time over spring break to get fabulous outfit pics.  And really, do you want more painter jean pics?  I didn't think so. Because that's what I wore for days as I painted even more things around my house.  This place is an HGTV host's dream.  Instead, I give you what I got.  Easter. Fashion stops for no one kid.  Except maybe a DIY project or three. You are never going to get us all perfect and at the same time.  Truth. SHOP THE … [Read more...]

WAPA & White

Sometimes you just have to sparkle and shine.  Even when you initially wanted to wear a jumpsuit. That was the case for me last week when I used Rent the Runway for the 30th Annual WAPA Gala.  Then two days before they event RtR emailed me to tell me my jumpsuit was damaged. Would I like something else?  Absolutely!  Except there wasn't anything but the Maria dress by Badgley Mischka available. I think it turned out alright, don't you think?  I scrambled for last minute silver shoes that weren't strappy sandals and found them on Amazon for a steal! I felt a little like Claire Underwood from House of Cards in this dress. Simple Sunday

Last week I hit my limit.  A simple Sunday was all that I wanted and needed.  Would I get it? Only after I put together a winter trunk show for Toyota. Then it was all about feeling the warm sun, peeling off a layer and digging in the dirt in our long-neglected yard.  Some neighbors came by to welcome us to the 'hood and I was so happy to see they had girls the same ages as mine.  What a gift!   This outfit strikes just the right note for talking cars, winter safety and still looking stylish.  I may be done with the boots but the weather sure isn't!  The wind whipped around hard and tying my hair back was the only option. Braving the Elements

Spring may not officially be here but the weather has certainly turned.  Each day brings a new surprise.  It's sunny and warm! It's rainy! It's freezing cold and rainy!  That was the case when I stepped outside for this week's outfit pic.  It ain't fabulous but it's real and that's life. Braving the elements as rain drips down my back. The tiny photographer was jumping around to miss being hit by the big drops of rain. This outfit felt so spring-like and I couldn't wait to be outside without socks or boots! I totally had to shop my closet for lighter clothes.  Since the basement flooded I can't get to the storage space with my spring and summer stuff that I packed up to move. So what! Who cares? Signature Style

Having a signature style, something that it totally you, is important.  It brings confidence when dressing and making decisions when styling anything from you to your home from the living room to your room that can have a big and organized wardrobe thanks to Mr Wardrobe services as well.  I've been told I'm hard to shop for and while I hate to believe that since I showcase so much of what I love right here on TMC, it might be true.  My signature style is classic chic with a bit of an edge thrown in some days. … [Read more...]

Leather & Lace

A few weeks back I sent out a plea for help with my outfit for H's work winter social.  I wanted something with a bit of an edge, something suitable and versatile and also, warm. Because let's face it the Capital has been C-O-L-D lately.  It doesn't suit me but I can't change it. I was in love with this over the knee leather skirt from Boohoo- … [Read more...]
