But First, Gangster Rap & Some Activewear

But first, gangster rap.  Yup, that's me. When I'm feeling down. Gangster rap. When I'm feeling angry and like the world is full of injustice. Gangster rap. When I'm having a kick ass day and full of hustle?  Gangster rap, please. To be truthful, I'm just a hip hop fan all around.  Throw in some disco and funk and that's pretty much what makes my little musical world go round. So when I saw this shirt on Facebook I knew it had to be mine.  H gave it to me for Christmas and while I know I'll wear it under a blazer or hanging around the house or WHEREVER because I LOVE IT, it also makes a great activewear piece.  And really?  What's better to workout to?  Pop music? Not for this girl. I picked up these 3/4 leggings at Shopbop in December. I was feeling the red color hard.  They … [Read more...]

Cozy Post-Holiday Style

We are in that interim between Christmas and New Years.  Life slows down, we chill out with loved ones and we have a tendency to get cozy.  I know I'm totally feeling a cozy post-holiday style in this look. I picked up this sweater on a Target run. It's pale pink color and thick weave beckoned me and once I felt how soft it is I tossed it into the cart.  The OTK boots are me succumbing to a trend I was so resistant to until I tried these babies on.  Wow.  I love them.  Warm, comfy and a let's be honest, hot.  I'm SOLD. Paired with my BB Dakota Jack by Roddy leggings from Shopbop the 'Gisela' OTK boots are super fun to wear. I have rocked them with a sweater dress for an Ugly Sweater Christmas party, jeans and more leggings. I decided on these 'Gisela' OTK boots because I … [Read more...]

Black Lace and Winter White

The Mazda holiday party also known as my work party for this year was held on a gorgeous twinkly night by the water. I couldn't resist the urge to pair my black knee-high boots with a black lace bell sleeve top and my high-waisted nautical flare pants in a chic winter white. Mazda MX-5 Miata. Source: Victoria Mason Instagram. I wore this Vince black lace top last spring for a St. Patrick's day gala. Back then I wore it with a full green midi-skirt.  Here in the holiday season I knew I wanted understated chic that made me think of winter. The buttons on these nautical flare pants make me so happy.  I always feel like I need to be in some 1930s musical when I wear them. Cold temps and walking city blocks made me keep my pumps at home and opt for the warmth of my knee high … [Read more...]

Everyday Basics

This  week has me sending texts that make my friends say, "Reading about your day has me exhausted."  That's why I am relying on the everyday basics of my closet to get me through this week and every day this month if I'm honest. This time of year there are parties and special events and blog posts to upload with holiday looks, but what I'm really wearing on the daily is all my best and favorite basics. These closet staples are must-haves and make it possible to just grab and go every morning. I want to get as much done now while the girls are in school so that I can enjoy their time off at Christmas. Monday morning had me running all over the town.  It was warmer and the sun was shining bright. No jacket needed. Staples like a stripe shirt, black booties, and a cardigan work … [Read more...]

Are You Mad for Holiday Plaid?

I am placing full responsibility on this red ruffled shirt for single-handedly getting me into the Christmas spirit. It also made me mad for holiday plaid. Now I just want ALL THE PLAID. I wore this easy combination on Thanksgiving and I loved it more than I thought I would.  Initially when I bought the shirt and tried it on I felt it was too stuffy.  Buttoned up all the way to the top to show off the ruffles was too staid.  Pairing it with my velvet skinny pants felt too much like I was skipping Thanksgiving entirely and heading straight to Santa coming down the chimney. I decided to undo a few buttons and add some much needed sparkle with this J.Crew necklace I received as a birthday gift (SOLD OUT-similar).  Pairing it with skinny ankle pants felt classic and enhanced … [Read more...]

It’s a Wrap Dress

This wrap dress. No lie, I bought this green wrap dress years ago in a thrift store in LA with my bestie, E, and then I never wore it. Can I call it vintage Banana Republic now? Maybe it is all the Good Girls Revolt episodes I have been binge watching on Amazon. Seriously, check it out! Maybe it is the fact that I love a good wrap dress and feel that this one needs to have its day.  Any way you look at it this classic wrap dress never goes out of style.  The wrap dress works for date night too. Wear it at work.  #workwearwednesday y'all.  A word about those nude pumps. I bought them in the spring and love wearing them.  They are 'Flex' by Michael Kors and are not sky high and super comfortable.  I walked all over the city last week in them and was fine.  They also … [Read more...]

The Moto Jacket 3 Ways

This fall I am all about my newest moto jacket. I wear it almost daily and it goes with so much. I had to share a few of my latest moto jacket looks- The Moto Jacket 3 Ways. First Look I feel like this look is easy, can be worn while out running errands or on the weekend.  I love just throwing on the moto jacket for warmth and topping off the stripes with a leopard scarf. Second Look This athleisure look has a pop of color in the red purse.  I added my black pebbled Converse sneakers and black sunglasses to complete the look.  This dress I found at Marshall's last week by Philsophy and it is a super luxe feeling cashmere knit.  Perfect for fall weekends.  I might pair it with black booties to dress it up later. Third Look This was a … [Read more...]
