I have a confession to make regarding a certain summer fashion.
OK. (Deep breath in. Deep breath out.)
I hate Maxi dresses.
There I said it. I think they look frumpy. They make so many women looking like they just had no idea what to do with themselves so they threw on a giant, tablecloth-like piece of fabric. If it is strapless then I hate it all the more. They drag on the ground and so often look schlumpy.
Then this weekend I saw two that suddenly made me think “YES! Without a belt and a ton of cute accessories you can make this work and it won’t make you look fatter and shorter!”
The Gap Chevron Maxi
I don’t love the $75 price but I do love the bold Chevron graphic. It comes in a lot of colors too.
Ooh! A maxi with a bit of flair and one that doesn’t dwarf me. From JCPenney too.
Another JCP style and my favorite is this striped Maxi. The colors are so gorgeous together and its $35!
Finally we have this one from Old Navy. The perfect place to buy a style you aren’t sure about and then wear the heck out of it for one season. It’s Limited Edition too so get it while it lasts!
While we are talking summer styles , can we talk about this cutie from Old Navy? It is a must-have for any summer. Classic.
