I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Reebok. I received a Famous Footwear gift card to purchase a pair of Reebok shoes to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
The other day my girlfriend called me a workout fiend. She may be right but that is not a bad thing. I like to run, cross-train, do yoga, a barre workout or a mixture of all four every other day or at least three times a week. It keeps me sane, sleeping well and feeling good when I can get my endorphins up and stress level down. As much as I like doing all these things I sometimes lack the diligence in keeping my footwear up to date. I use running shoes for cross-training half the time and that’s not the best idea for my joints. Why do I do this? Because I don’t want to take the time to buy my own shoes. I don’t want to drag the three kids out to buy another pair of shoes when we have all already spent enough time buying their back to school, summer, whatever shoes. It’s too much and I end up short-changing myself. So, I leaped at the chance to join the Famous Footwear/Reebok review campaign so I could get a decent pair of cross-trainers for once because running shoes are not all-purpose shoes.
As soon as I got on the Reebok section of Famous Footwear I made the decision to get a little out of the box. No safe looking shoes for me! I was going to pick out a pair that were brighter and had way more color than my blues, blacks and greys that I normally favor.
What do you think? It’s the Reebok’s Women SUBLITE TR
I was anxious for them to arrive and test them out. I spent a week doing interval training in these shoes. I noticed that my size 10 feet translate into an exact 10 in Reebok, so my next pair is probably a 10.5 so there is a bit of room and I won’t risk losing or bruising a toenail. The shoes are lightweight and have less cushion than I thought but then again, this is my first official pair of cross-trainers in a very long time. I found them comfortable and stream-lined. My ginormica feet didn’t look like I could walk on water in these shoes. That’s a relief! They weren’t boats! At first, the color did throw me. I would look down and get a bit freaked out. By the end of the first week I liked them. The brightness added a spark to my workout. It’s less industrial more zest and isn’t that what we all need at some point during our workouts? Here is what else I liked. My $100 gift card went far! These cuties were only $45 and so now I can pick up a new set of kicks for one of my girls or per my husbands request “a set of cross-trainers for him”. Sure, we can do that! I will certainly be going back to Famous Footwear for more deals and their large selection.
Do you have a favorite pair of workout kicks? Do you go safe with the colors or all out?
