Perfume does not give me as big a rush as a new nail polish or lipstick but I do admit to being very finicky when it comes to my preferred scent.  Each year when Neiman Marcus has their bi-annual beauty event I think, “Oh! I’ll just order something new and that’s that.” Never happens.  Unless I have tried it a few times and know that I love it, I cannot say “I love citrus scents, so any citrus will do.” No way.  I love peppery perfumes too with bergamot but that hasn’t always worked out.  While I do tend to adore a more spicy, zest-filled aroma I’m open to giving all perfumes a whirl.

That’s where Pour Le Monde comes in.  I agreed to test out three scents because they are gluten-free, never tested on animals and free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, formaldehyde and are 100% natural.  So my wheelhouse!  Certified by the Natural Products Association and Peta’s Beauty without Bunnies the scents are available in spray form ($95, 1.7 oz) with 10% of the proceeds going back to the charities.

Envision is a Brazilian orange, Persian Lime, Italian Bergamot infused fragrance that has hints of vanilla, woods and patchouli in it.  It is very herby and reminds me of spring without the floral tones. It’s heady, powerful and a bit exotic.  I could see wearing it during the fall and winter.  Proceeds go towards the National MS Society.  Together, a lighter more elegant and graceful scent is full of Italian Bergamot, Argentina Lemon, with natural isolates of Violet, Jasmine, Freesia and Lilac.  Base notes of vanilla, patchouli, and balsam come into play. Proceeds for Together go to the Cancer Support Community. I have to say that the patchouli stands out the most in all these perfumes.  If you don’t like it then I would move one.  Empower, a crisp lemony scent that brings forth cedar, lemongrass, spearmint and orange flower  is probably the strongest and most citrus of the trio.  It is definitely not for the faint of heart.  Proceeds for it go to Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

Pour Le Monde perfumes are beautifully and naturally scented.  A bit strong in the patchouli for my taste but not as earthy or too sweet either.
