Beauty Love- Lumene CC Cream & Violent Eyes

I have a deep love for Friday’s in October. I can’t quite pinpoint the reason but unlike any other time of the year Friday afternoons in October just feel loaded with anticipation. Maybe it goes back to the start of a new school year, high school dances and the feeling of endless possibilities of what the school year could hold. The slight chill in the air, the crisp coldness as the leaves crunch beneath your feet and you take a big breath in of the fall air. It’s heaven.

Friday beauty love feels almost as good.

This week I’m featuring Lumene Artic Skin Science Time Freeze Anti-Age CC Cream (the CC stands for Color Correcting) and it is a 6 in 1 product. SIX? That means it doesn’t just correct your skin in a variety of ways like nourish it, hydrate it, illuminate it or cover up imperfections. It also creates an even skin tone all while protecting skin from the signs of aging and with SPF 20. Does it really do all that? My first thought is that I could do without the sweet scent. It is just too much and the coverage is much thicker than I anticipated. The Light version I received for review was almost too light for this time of year. Mid-winter it will be spot on. I like that I can apply it after using a light daily lotion and not feel like my skin will dry out or get too oily. For me, with an oily T-zone this is really a big deal. I need coverage for age spots and uneven skin tone and I need something that doesn’t create an oil slick on my face. Unlike BB Cream’s I have tested the Lumene CC cream ($14.99) actually works. It adds a subtle glow to my skin that I really dig and a little goes a long way and covers well. It lasts all day without rubbing off. Even better is that it doesn’t contain mineral oil or parabens.

Pick up your own tube of this great CC Cream at your local CVS or Ulta.

Just in time for Halloween and the upcoming holidays (think New Year’s Eve) Violent Eyes is the flawless make-up application for eyes that takes just a few minutes (about 5) and is a hit with lots of celebrities.  I fell in love with the Violet Glitteratti ($9.99) style that is similar to the purple eyeliner Olivia Wilde was seen wearing.  I’ll be saving those for a big night out, purple looks great with brown eyes and the style is just subtle enough with a bit of pop that makes a nice change of pace.  Each packet features four eyeliner styles from bold to barely there.  They are smudge-proof and last up to 16 hours.  I’m so bad at applying stuff like false lashes, extensions or really winged cat eyes without a crooked look.  Not so with Violent Eyes.  I chose a style and placed them on.  You want smokey eyes or glittery lids?  This is the best option that makes a clean and clear statement.  I’ll be wearing the thick glittery black ones to go with my witch costume on Halloween night.
