Whatcha Wearing Wednesday Jewel Tones

This week it is all about following the leader. The leader in jewel tones, that is.  No one is showing that off better than the Trend Spin link up at Walking in Memphis in High Heels.  I love, love, love this blog!  I found it through The Pleated Poppy WIWW and I’ve been hooked on it ever since.

It was perfect timing too because I was standing in my closet with limited time wondering what to wear for a day that had me going to a parent-teacher conference and then having friends over.  What would be versatile, stylish and easy? 

I came up with this outfit following the Trend Spin link up theme of jewel tones.

I bought these shoes back in 2008 when I was pregnant with The Comedian.  I wore them to my baby shower and then never again. I remember being completely obsessed with the idea of getting emerald green ballet flats and found these on Amazon.  Then I shoved them back in the box and forgot about them.  While cleaning out the closet of summer clothes and converting it to cold weather gear I found them and thought, “If I can find a way to wear them in the next two weeks I will keep them.”  Two days later I did.  Guess I am keeping them a bit longer.
