Finding Your Fitness Motivation

I freely admit that every once in a while I fall off the workout bandwagon. My fitness motivation just gets deleted. I don’t actually stop working out I just end up shortening the duration of my work outs.  A combination of factors creates these mini-workouts.  Our daily schedule gets crowded, I lost track of time in the morning and by afternoon our schedule doesn’t allow me a moment alone much less time to sweat.  Getting to the gym?  The travel time kills my motivation before I even grab my gym bag.  Three weeks will go by and suddenly I’m eating in a not so healthy way, the workouts get even shorter and then I can’t even do the ones I did just a month before without getting totally winded and spent for the day. Let’s face it. I’m not 22 or even 32.  The body changes rapidly but doesn’t show results in the other direction quite as fast. And blah, blah, blah aging.

So…..

I decided to change things up when this happens.  Give myself a week of doing a new style of exercising and see if it motivated me to find longer, more intense fitness sessions. You know what?  It totally worked too!  I started out last week doing a combination of Yoga and Dance.

By the end of the week I wanted more and found a Cardio Barre class that was longer.

Next day,  I wanted something even more intense and chose this under 40 Minute Cardio Barre-Dancer’s Body Workout.

For me, the break from trying to find more high-impact workouts and trying to find time to run was stalling me. I needed to stretch and work with new muscle groups. The beauty is that this is all accessible on my phone, laptop or tablet anytime, anywhere. No equipment needed. Plus, IT’S FREE!

I may not be exactly where I want to be but I’m back in the game. I want to workout. To get stronger so I can live my life to the fullest and at the same time not have to spend money on clothes another size up. Trust me, your bank account will thank you just like your body, mind and spirit.
