2015 Ford F-150 4×4 Supercab
Fully redesigned for 2015 the new Ford F-150 boasts aluminium body panels and some small style changes that creates a rugged look that offers more substance rather than just sleek style. Don’t me wrong, the grille and headlights are striking but there is no mistaking this is an F-150 and that is not a bad thing.
I was excited to test this truck out. I haven’t been behind the wheel of a truck for everyday driving purposes in almost ten years and I missed it. I’ll willingly admit I was hesitant about it too. Last time I didn’t have three kids in the extended cab behind me to shuttle to school. I burn a lot of gas that way each week but it was nice to have the usefulness of a truck which also contained a 2.7L Ecoboost V-6 engine. I didn’t go through nearly as much gas as I thought I would. It averages about 22/23 mpg.
You can read all about the bells and whistles that the new F-150 has online. How its middle storage area could fit my largest purse and the video cameras all over it that make life twice as nice. The trailer hitch assist camera version (and trailer sway control) alone is worth checking out. No, what I loved about it is how much easier it made our lives and how helpful it was to others. I wish I could have done even more.
We put off a lot of things off because we don’t have the space that a truck bed offers to haul, help or pick up items. Projects are left for when we can borrow one and it can be frustrating to a Type A person like myself. With the F-150 I wanted to DO ALL THE THINGS. That wood pile by the house that is a termites paradise? The F-150 makes it a 30-minute task. Friends cleaning up their yard and removing a heavy workbench? We got this!
Tie it down now with lockable tie downs. Remove later when you don’t need them.
Later that same day we decided to pick up the lacrosse net our oldest asked for so she could improve her skills on the field.
The optional tailgate step that folds up fast and even has a handle was really useful for her and every other person who climbed in and out of the truck bed.
A few days into driving the all-new F-150 I was in love with the technology, cargo capacity and cabin space. It was a bit of a rougher drive than I’m used to and it is also a lighter truck which means it accelerates faster than other trucks. I’m told that makes me more of an aggressive driver but I don’t believe it. However, I do believe that the extremely quiet cabin and engine make up for any stiff or somewhat rough-riding. Those last two items earn high marks in my book. And if you don’t want a rough ride, don’t buy a truck. A truck that drives like a Corolla never gets points with me.
The Ford F-150 4×4 Supercab with XLT trim package comes in at $43,085.00 MSRP. Base price is $37,005.00. If you are looking for a new truck it this new version from Ford is hard to beat in looks and in capability. It combines great technology and function into one modern vehicle.
