This week it’s Shian from The Fashion Investigator. If you haven’t read her blog yet then get ready to learn a trick, tip or two. She’s all about helpful hints that elevate your closet and fashion game.

1. You write about fashion tips, how-to’s and trends. What is your favorite type of post to put together?
My favorite type of post to put together is most definitely my how-to posts. I grew up with a very limited understanding of fashion (really, you would laugh if you saw my high school outfits!) and I love being able to share the things I’ve learned with others. Plus, I love to read useful information on other blogs that I can actually implement in my own closet.
2. What’s your least favorite aspect of blogging about fashion?
My least favorite aspect about blogging is my inner conflict between maintaining a genuine spirit and getting caught up in the aesthetics. Sometimes it’s very difficult to juggle fake, beautiful posts with real life, and I’m always striving to find a balance between the two to keep things interesting/pretty but also totally me.
3. Name three trends for fall that you are really excited about this year.
Menswear inspired styles, velvet, and sequins.
4. You frequently show off a strong lip color in your posts. What do you use?
Red lipstick is my favorite, I think it’s appropriate for EVERY outfit. I am committed to Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01, Always Red. It doesn’t dry out as much as most stains I’ve tried, and it’s reasonably priced. I’ve tried higher and lower end reds, and this is my favorite.
5. Name one item in your closet you cannot live without.
My gold woven belt. I wear it with dresses, skirts, and shorts interchangeably. The woven aspect allows me to cinch it as tight/loose as I need to, and I am just a sucker for gold.
6. Tell us something about yourself that readers wouldn’t normally know about you.
1- I’m OBSESSED with Harry Potter. I bought all the books at midnight and went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando on opening day.
2- I can make friends with virtually anyone. I love meeting new people and got the gift of gab from my amazing mother.
