Guys, this weekend was it. It was all about runner style and having fun. After months of training, I did it. My first ten mile race! I have done half-marathons before but for some reason I felt that this one was bigger. The George Washington Parkway Classic was one I have wanted to run for years and it was everything I wanted it to be and more.
I was nervous about this race. I haven’t run that far in a few years. Training in the winter can be rough and that was a majority of my time on the pavement. When I hit four miles in training I hit a wall. My body was too tired from every day life. I started taking Thrive supplements (which I was totally not a believer of) and immediately noticed a difference in my abilities while running, during recovery and afterwards. I don’t think I would have run as well as I did or felt so energetic afterwards if it weren’t for this vitamin regime. #truth
Finished! Time: 1:43. 10 Miles run, done and fun is how I felt when I took this picture minutes after the finish. #gwparkwayclassic
I like to put my outfit together a few days before so that I know I have all that I need. It calms me to know that not just my body is ready but my outfit and supplies which helps put my head in the right race mind set.

Congrats on your race! I have to say that it was nice to hear that you hit a wall during your training because about 2 weeks ago, I did as well in my training, and just felt out of sorts and “over the whole thing”. What a wonderful accomplishment!!! You look great in your post race picture. Enjoy a well deserved little rest.
Thank you! I always hit a wall during a race and training. It is part of why I have never done a full marathon. I just can’t wrap my brain around it and the wall seems super-sized! I just signed up for an 8k in July to keep me running and I’m thinking of another half marathon for September. Keep at it, girl!!
LOVE the outfit- the pop of neon yellow is so fun! And good for you…10 miles is a lot! I’m impressed 🙂
Thank you so much! It was a lot of fun.
Congrats! Man, I wish I could run like this haha. It’s always such a struggle for me!
