What I Love This Week

I’m on a mission to find fun, engaging, sustainable, and easy ways to make our life more enjoyable, as well as those that give back.  It’s summer and it’s Covid Summer #Quarantinelife still (did we really think this would still be a thing?!) so our world is different.  I’m looking for new businesses to support and ways to help my community because we are all suffering, growing (PLEASE!), and finding ways to learn.

Social Moms, Social Stuff

black-owned beauty brands

I write for the website Social Moms on the regular.  Here’s the latest from me.

10 Black-Owned Beauty Brands You Need to Discover and How to Soothe Irritated Skin (I’m looking at you, face mask). Feeling anxious?  How about eating your way to being anxiety-free?

Shocking No One My Teen is Bored

Looking for some fun DIY beauty ideas to entertain your tween or teen?  We’re into Simply Scrub and her recipes for at-home face masks and more. I just need to restock my fridge and pantry a bit more each week.

Bike Shorts, Yes, I’m Serious

I have to admit that when I first saw the bike shorts trend taking shape earlier this year I did a full-on “Hell, NO!”  I am not about to relive my youth via my closet in that way.  All I could think of was lime green or neon bike shorts. Then I thought about how much better bike shorts are for yoga. I like the coverage. It’s hot. Shorts slip up when in poses and expose areas I don’t want to expose. Bike shorts do not!  So, here we go again!

Bright Swimwear

It feels a bit bleak out there.  I’m diving headfirst into my childhood buying lawn darts for my kids, playing badminton, and feeling the need to wear bright colors each day and that includes my swimwear.

Animal Prints Roar With One-Piece Swimsuits

I can’t seem to quit the animal print thing.  I wouldn’t have been caught dead in this in my youth but as I get older the more I embrace it.
