I’m not big on Christmas or any of the holidays that roll around in December. For me, Halloween and Thanksgiving are where it is at. I love the weather, the vibrant colors, and the food. The fact that I can usually wear something colorful, cute, and elegant without a coat is also a major plus in my book.
However, I’m inevitably asked by my family what I want for Christmas. Honestly, I never know what to ask for or tell them. I should make a ‘NO SHOPPING’ moratorium on myself from August to December just so I can have something to add to a wishlist. *Note to self: DON’T SHOP next year. Either that or think of experiences you want.
Nevertheless, here we are. Another year, another request for a wishlist. And a request to buy something that is not books or candles. That right there? That’s a whole other issue to tackle in the new year. Don’t tell people you are asking to buy for that you don’t want to buy some of the very things they love and never want to buy themselves. It’s rude.
I love a good candle. I can’t help it if that is so very mom-like of me.
Nest Grapefruit or Birchwood is on my list this year too.

I picked up this Madewell Transport U Saddle Bag recently and I adore it. It’s soft, supple, and is a great size. Both big enough to fit my wallet and a bag of small necessities I carry with me but an outer pocket for my mask and phone. It gives me easy access to everything and you can switch out the straps to make it sporty with a striped canvas strap or dress it up with a matching leather one. It’s affordable too and in a classic style.
This Dannijo ‘Rome’ ring with an emerald-like stone comes in gold or crystal. I love the gold one. I’m a big fan of chunky rings and this one fits the bill perfectly. It’s festive too.
Last summer I started wearing tennis skirts instead of shorts. It feels breezy, cool, and effortless. I scooped up various colors and styles but now they are tucked away until next year. Well, this gorgeous green one by Venus Williams is divine. It has a matching top too.
I’ll throw in a Delta airlines gift card request. I want to visit my best friend in Utah next year. I’m always happy to find under-eye masks in my stocking as well as any sort of caramel, marshmallow Santa, or toffee.
