In our house we have three sweet pets that we love dearly. I don’t know what we would do without them. They are such a part of our family and they definitely know it. I’m talking birthday parties, special dog dental chews for our Boston/Pit mix, treats galore for the cats and pup, toys, blankets, matching outfits, birthday accessories. We might have a problem. Does it bring us all joy? Absolutely. Do people make fun of us? Sometimes. Do we care? Not a bit. Baking my dog a bone-shaped cake and watching her eat it makes us happy and brings unexpected joy to an average day. I’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite, can’t live without pet items that we have found and used for both our two cats and dog.
- Daily Dog Dental Chews for our black and white terrier mix. She loves to get one before I leave for work each day.
- Piles of small fleece pet blankets to curl up in on a bed or drag into someone’s room. I buy a pack of five to ten of them and each animal seems to have a favorite. They wash well and dry fast and don’t take up a lot of space.
- Bronchial supplements for the old girl who defends our turf. As she gets older she needs a little freshening and it has drastically reduced the wheezing she has on really humid days. This summer has been brutal with its intense humidity and she loves having this added to her morning feeding.
- Cat Wands for play time fun. These never get old with either of our cats. Our male tuxedo cat can frequently been seen dragging one of these wands from one room to another or up and down a flight of stairs at top speed. Watch out!!
- The pet sling carrier my oldest thinks she should take to college along with our cat. No. Sorry, kid, it’s not happening.
- Waterless pet bath we use with our steamer brush for brushing out both the cats and the dog. They smell like soft lavender when we’re done and shed less too.
- Let’s talk about the steamer brush. It’s amazing! We use it often and brush out the fur on the cats in particular and it calms them and takes away a lot of the fur that would shed all over the furniture, our clothing, and the floors.
