Nude Nails & Shades of Green

Spring brings about thoughts of rebirth, green shoots and fresh ideas. I'm in love with the look of darker nude nails for this spring and the green shadow trend.  BB creams are still a must-have for glowing skin.  I have included a splurge and save and other great products to add to your spring list.  … [Read more...]

Update Your Fall Beauty Routine

Personally, I have not tried the Simple Facial line but I whole heartedly agree with this video when it comes to Jergens Natural Glow products. I keep a tube in my gym bag, at home and in my toiletry bag (travel-size) for every trip.  When you travel you can get run down and this stuff doesn't clog pores. It just moisturizes and gives your skin a great, soft glow.   … [Read more...]

A Stormy Brew

My girlfriend texted me about colors that are in for fall the other day, "Purple is in this fall, right?" I texted back, "Absolutely!" She painted her fingers and toes a stunning, slightly metallic purple. It reminded me that I had two colors sitting on my own bathroom counter, waiting to be mixed together. Butter London's 'Gobsmacked' (Fall/Winter 2012) Essie 'French Affair' (Spring/Summer 2011) I started out with a very light mixture of Gobsmacked and heavy on the French Affair. It was streaky and too light for the season. The end result was reminded me of a hurricane sky purple with that dark blue you often see during a storm on the water.  It seemed appropriate for the end of September.  Please, ignore the rough edges.  This is pre-cutical clean up. … [Read more...]

Six Questions with Lather Rinse Repeat

Meet Beauty Blogger of the Week, Michaela from Lather Rinse Repeat!  I discovered her quite by accident only weeks ago as I trolled beauty blogrolls.  Immediately I was hooked by her ability to make me snort with laughter while discussing beauty related items like chalking or American beauty hauls.  Her blog has become a fun little addiction for me and one that goes beyond nail art.  Isn't that a relief?!  I was overjoyed when she said yes to this little interview and then talked to me on Twitter.  I'm going back to my corner now. … [Read more...]

It's Friday! That means we are talking about all things beauty here on TMC. Check out the video below for my thoughts on the new butter LONDON fall/winter colors. If you are feeling so inclined, subscribe to my feed here (it's fixed!) or on YouTube. If not, you run the risk of kittens spontaneously combusting all over the world. Who wants to be responsible for that mess? … [Read more...]

Beauty Blogger of the Week

TMC is starting a new series where we focus on some fantastic beauty bloggers (BB) from all over the country and the world.  I know that I tend to get stuck in a blogger rut where I read the same cherished blog friends and faves over and over. I think this is a wonderful way to promote someone you might not know yet but will definitely love! Meet our first BB! … [Read more...]

Where’s Mummy?

All over the place! At least that is how I feel this first week of summer.  From swim lessons to bubble camp, dance recitals and extra classes, work and our everyday lives I am feeling sleep deprived, dehydrated, frustrated and just plain 'ol scattered.  Sitting outside a SBUX until midnight last night probably didn't help but I needed time out of the house and to catch up with friends. I wrote about the 2012 Chevy Traverse on GM's 'Driving the NorthEast' blog this week. On MPR we talked about Being Kind, Being Green, Choosing Cartons, Using the new Red Carpet Manicure kit (Gel manicure at home!) and so much more.  Exclusive MPR coupons are there too! At Social Moms I bring out the best Eco-Friendly Nail Polish for Summer. Lastly,  there's this great product round-up that I'm … [Read more...]
