Last week was hard. There were many doctor appointments, phone calls to be made, insurance questions to be answered and I just felt like a used up dish rag most days. To combat that feeling I went outside my comfort zone and paired my yellow jeans with a bright fuschia sweater and then went further adding a belt and leopard print flats. You know what? It worked. It's hard to know where to begin or if there was something I could have done differently. I keep going back over the last few months, the last year, the last two years really and beyond that and wonder if there was something I did that brought us to where we are today. We knew this summer that things were different with The Fifth Element. We chalked it up to the "terrible twos", the new summer schedule, all sorts of things until somewhere in the middle I began to think it was something else. The tantrums, the hesitancy to play with kids she saw daily, the whispering of "no, no, no" until it became screams and frantic pleas to be held so close it felt like she wanted to meld into me completely. I had the cutest outfit all planned out. I wore it actually and felt so fantastic in it all day. I was about to take a picture of myself in it when I realized that my youngest needed a diaper change. No details but the outfit didn't survive. I was crushed quite frankly. No pictures. I can only describe it. Even Polyvore couldn't help me with possible photos. It was a fashion tradgedy, people! The bright green capri pants with the pewter ballet flats and matching bow-front belt looked so cute with a ruffled navy polo and my still glowing summer skin. Alas, it was not meant to be. Personally, I have not tried the Simple Facial line but I whole heartedly agree with this video when it comes to Jergens Natural Glow products. I keep a tube in my gym bag, at home and in my toiletry bag (travel-size) for every trip. When you travel you can get run down and this stuff doesn't clog pores. In our house Halloween is one of the bigger events for our family during the year. It is the perfect way for us to really show how much we love the fall season, gather with friends and spend some time outdoors. Getting ready for the big night takes weeks, costumes are just a fraction of it, and it is full of many traditions that include pumpkin picking, fall festivals, pumpkin carving, decorating our home inside and out and of course, choosing a costume for all of six of our family members, including the dog.
