Fall Jewelry Collections

All opinions are 100% my own.  I don't wear a lot of jewelry in the summer months.  I do however like to layer it in the fall and winter.  Fall jewelry collections are out now and while I love a good statement ring the big hitters this season are amped up earrings. Earrings that Dangle and Entice We are still hanging with the tortoiseshell trend and I like it. Earrings are no exception.  I love the addition of beads, thicker hoops and oblong shapes from Shopbop that dangle and swing. J.Crew has some gorgeous bejeweled studs that really add to a simple sweater and pair of jeans. It feels very excess and a bit 1980s in a good … [Read more...]

Dark & Delightful Denim

Two weeks ago I wore my first pair of dark denim for the summer.  I never wear denim in the summer months unless they are in shorts form.  I just cannot.  Then suddenly we had a few cool days and paired with a sleeveless top the denim was just right. Fast forward to September.  School is back in session and the idea of denim dark or light wash is delightful.  I am wearing cropped black jeans as I type.  Now I'm all about the idea of dark & delightful denim with raw hems and flares for Fall. Casual & Classic Denim by Veamason Fall Plaid & Denim by Veamason … [Read more...]

Fall is in the Air

This morning as I sat outside working through my devotions I noticed that the light has already begun to change.  Golden leaves are falling from the Tulip Poplar trees in my yard.  Already.  Fall is more than a month away but the subtle changes are in the air. Minutes later my friend showed off her newest purchase for fall in her FB Stories.  I was both appalled at the thought of fall fashion- it's too soon! The pool still beckons me daily! To also swooning over this gorgeous sweater-blazer. I need it.  I want it.  Really, it's so cozy looking and really amps up an outfit. After a quick peek online, I was down a rabbit hole of fall looks. I ended up with these finds. I'm seriously loving neutrals right now and the blending of burgundy in with them to add a richness to … [Read more...]

Breaking Down Balayage: Is This New Coloring Trend Right For You?

Hair trends come and go so often that it can be hard to keep up. As soon as you get around to getting those bold highlights everyone loves, they're out of style and you suddenly look like you're behind the times. Luckily, there is one coloring technique that never goes out of style and works for any lifestyle: balayage. Even if you may not know what balayage is, you've certainly seen it before. Everyday women as well as those on screens and magazines sport balayage hair color all the time. Let's take a look at what exactly this technique is and how you can bring it into your life. 12 Days of Things I Love

Happy December! This month I'm doing 12 Days of Things I Love.  Each week I will share a few more items until we hit that magic number 12. I've done three items this week so far.  Let's get started, shall we? I featured this item to kick off the event.  It's a darker take on holiday nails and since Essie is one of my favorite nail polish brands I had to share it. You take Essie Wicked and apply it over your base coat.  Then layer on Essie Bordeaux and finish it off with a top coat.  It's a deeper burgundy that glows with depth.  I love it this holiday season and through the new year. Next, my can't go a day without my cozy shearling-lined slippers from Lands End.  I have a Josie Blue pair from last year and they held up well all year long.  This year you can monogram … [Read more...]

What’s In Your Gym Bag?

Do you want to know what is in my gym bag?  I'll tell you what is in my gym bag. NOTHING. Nada. ZILCH. I work out from home, but I think you know that by now.  I would love to say that I carry around this very cute Adidas bag by Stella McCartney but that would be a lie.  Instead, I'll let you in on a few of my favorite, can't live without workout essentials.   In the last year, I have come to rely on these Epsom salt baths to detox from Lyme disease but also to relieve the soreness I get from my daily workouts.  They are a must and I do them a few times a week.  The blender with a cup is for the daily post-workout shakes that I LOVE.  It's the perfect pick me up after a strenuous training session and the best way I know to curb my cravings and forget about … [Read more...]

Love Yourself and Your Look: Wardrobe Tips for Weight Fluctuations

Weight gain and loss is a part of life. For women, this can be even more true, especially when women choose to become mothers. Hearing stories from female celebrities shows how exhausting enduring judgment from others can be. From Rhianna to Kelly Clarkson to Angelina Jolie, celebs in the public eye face millions of weight-related comments daily. Celebrities may face exhausting public ridicule for their changing bodies, but they don’t have to deal with one consequence the rest of us do: having to personally figure out what to wear every day. Back to School for Moms Means Wardrobe Refresh

We go back to school next week.  I'm wavering between ecstatic joy that the endless sibling arguing will be over and then feeling sad that our carefree summer is coming to a close. Who Doesn't Love Fall & Back to School Time? Back to school shopping is when my early bird personality has us finishing up our back to school supply and clothes shopping in early August. Honestly, I do most of it online to avoid in aisle fighting, crowds, lines, all of it. Ask me how I buy clothes for my tween? I let her fill up store carts online and then we go through the carts together with our budget in mind and make choices together. It's way less stress in the store, issues in the dressing room and it actually makes it fun for her and me to work together.  I started doing it with the younger two this … [Read more...]
