Guess what? More gray this week! I know, I've been OD'ing on gray lately, it is so obviously trending this season and I can't stop letting it drape itself on my body each day. … [Read more...]
Holy Chic

I'm in love. It's true! My BFF, my long-time love is none other than all things fall. And while, I'm no PSL-drinker I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love this time of year. It is hands down my favorite. I said to my friend the other day that I love it so much I could get on a scooter with a wreath of plastic leaves on my head and ride around town yelling, "I LOVE FALL! I LOVE LEAVES & ALL THINGS PUMPKIN! I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT HALLOWEEN!!" To me, it is the most wonderful time of the year. Sorry, Christmas. The mild weather, the certain way the light hits in the afternoon that is so bright and sunny but tinged with a touch of melancholy. The colors are warm but the air is cool and running is at its best this time of year. I always feel like despite the trees shedding their … [Read more...]
Style Inspiration: Victoria Beckham

It's clear that I'm a minimalist. I am currently obsessed with Forever 21 and their minimalist collection and find myself drawn to Victoria Beckham's pre-fall denim collection (already on sale!) with its structured tops, menswear-inspired shoes paired with various denim pants. Take the Japan top from her line. … [Read more...]
Maximized

The Maxi dress is out now, right? Because I finally wore one. For the longest time I refused. Even when so many of my friends needled me about the benefits of the Maxi's charm, comfort and ease. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm not tall enough and I have curves, I told myself. I finally picked one out. The nice people over at East & Lo asked me if I wanted to check out their styles. I chose the Striped Maxi Dress in White & Black. I was really excited to wear it and dress up a bit after a weekend of being covered in paint and DIY debris. Folks, the red walls in my living room and dining room are no more! TD's room has been reborn with a white and aqua painted loft bed, which may include a mattress from that serta vs.sealy blog, where the closet was turned … [Read more...]
Best Look of the Link Up & Shoe Friday

I'm still reeling from the fact that it is August. AUGUST! It's like a month of Sunday's. Next, the light will be changing and cool breezes will caress our shoulders and we'll be all about boleros or something to stay warm. Remember boleros? I'm still not ready for those things to come back. My jam-packed weekend, which my Instagram account shows about half of what H and I tackled in DIY projects this weekend, started off with a few trips to the paint store and being featured on my friend Jodi's blog, Jodifur , for her weekly feature, Shoe Friday. … [Read more...]

Vacation & Madras Plaid

What a week! Just back from our week-long Fourth of July beach vacation I am still trying to get back out of vacation mode. Trust AGS Photo Art to preserve every heartfelt family moment so those treasured memories last well beyond the holiday. I don't really want to try that hard. I decided I wasn't ready to give up summer style. More than seven days in a bathing suit, cover-up and casual shorts and tees was refreshing. I loved not wearing accessories of any sort and just throwing on a pair of white canvas kicks and keeping my hair straightener and products tucked away for a week. … [Read more...]

Proof that thrifting is an art and one that can be well done! … [Read more...]
Whatcha Wearing Wednesday – Style Link-Up with Tres Chic Thursdays!

Let's just start out by saying that this oufit you are seeing was not what I planned. Then again, I don't plan on having 70 degree days in mid-November! I was zipping up my high brown riding boots when I just thought, "Ugh. I just can't do it. It's too much. I will incinerate." Off it all came and in the hustle and bustle that is getting the kids off to school I grabbed the bright red pants that were sticking out of the closet. I ripped the striped shirt off the hanger and thought, "Why not! Let's go full-on prep!" Out came the buckle ballet flats and on went the silver beaded necklace, which I had forgotten about and haven't worn in years. I think I'm in love with it all over again. It has a certain Mad Men/Masters of Sex feel to it. A smooth low pony and swipe of red gloss completed the … [Read more...]
Learning to Say Yes More

I can be somewhat rigid when it comes to schedules and the way I like to go about my days. I plan the week, I plan our meals, I plan blog posts (except for the day I'm actually scheduled to co-host a blog link-up! that's when I decide to head out of town for a long weekend and shut down. WHAT?!), I plan when I do my back to school, holiday shopping right down to the time and day. OK, maybe I am a lot rigid. I section out every day with plans. Eesh. When I decided to take a bit of a long weekend with just the my girls and 'say yes' during that time, I had no idea if it would make life and driving a whole lot more fun or just a trip on the crazy train. We've got one day left on this trip and this is what I've learned. … [Read more...]
