2014 Mazda Mazda3 5-Door Grand Touring

2014 Mazda Mazda3 5-Door Grand Touring Take a moment and look at the lines on that Mazda Mazda3.  This is not your standard 5-door hatchback style car.  When I was told I could review one I agreed but admittedly my expectations were low.  I wasn't feeling the whole 5-door factor.  The car arrived and I liked the color, Soul Red Metallic and instantly fell in love with the sleek lines.  The interior stole my heart in seconds. Sporty, stylish and super soft almond and black leather seats. First, I love the simplicity of this car.  The interior is refined, uncomplicated and has a display for navigation that sits on top of the dashboard rather than in it.  Not everyone loves this feature, but I did. I don't care how throwback it looks.  It was easier to see maps, what was playing on … [Read more...]

Neon Pink with White

The end of the school year can be chaotic to say the least but when you throw in some long-needed/wanted home renovation projects and a total wasting to your computer via nasty virus it becomes cataclysmic. That's right. I got one of those hideously awful and mean ransomware viruses last Friday. And no, I will not capitalize that BS because the people who hold all your files for ransom and want to get paid in BitCoin (grr...don't get me started on how I feel about BitCoin as currency) are not just thieves but deplorable sacks of skin who hide behind the dark depths of the internet and its caverns. It's sad, pathetic and I'm sure they feel the world owes them in some way. Or whatever. Go make a YouTube video and cry your fat head into your overly large pillow. … [Read more...]

Breakfast: That Oh SO Important Meal

It may not be Monday but you can still embrace the week and start each day off right, no matter how much time you have in the morning. Check out this week's Quick Fit Tip and find out how I eat well on the go. Crazy mornings should be the first ingredient. … [Read more...]

Bing in the Classroom for Your School

In a few short weeks my little second grader will become a full-fledged third grade girl. I can't believe it. She ends the year with a full set of teeth, a few more inches on her height and a new awareness of the world around her that wasn't there a short nine months ago. Does that mean that she needs the latest celebrity gossip pop-up to flit across her computer screen in the classroom this year or next? No, it does not.  Are we, as parents, powerless to stop this kind of advertising to our kids even during school hours?  No, we are most certainly not! … [Read more...]

Three Things I Know

This weekend was a bizarre mix of emotions for me. Full of activities, some serious down time and me crying into a plate of eggs. It could have spelled disaster but I was determined, though weary, to not let someone else's bad, ill-timed comments get the best of me, especially on my birthday weekend. All of it, mashed together in its messy mix made me realize that there are three things I know for sure. … [Read more...]

5 Summer Make-Up Must Have’s

This past weekend was Memorial Day, the unofficial start of the summer season.  The temperatures are rising, the pool is open and pretty soon we will all be feeling the heat 24/7.  That means taking a break from the heavier make-up. Think sunless tanner, soft peach blush, illuminators and a waterproof mascara. For me, I think less is more in the summer months. I’m too busy having fun, living a more laid back lifestyle to really care what my make-up looks like.  I tend to stick to the basics. … [Read more...]

Quick Fit Tip of the Week

I'm all about getting it done. Three kids, working from home, life is just busy. For EVERYONE. Except my dog. She is like, thirteen and really old and sleeps 23 hours a day. Half a lap around my block and the old gal is ready for a rest. Me? I need to keep it going. Stay on top of things because like it or not I seem to be the anchor in this family as my friend so diplomatically put it the other day. I'm the rock. The one who keeps things running. That means I need to run even when it isn't always easy. Here's how I do it on the particularly time-crunched days. … [Read more...]

Glam Grunge, Are You In?

I will be the first to admit that I was not a fan of grunge the first time around. I still shudder when I see a floral baby doll dress. Last week at Target I had flashbacks when my hand brushed up against a set of floral overalls. I wanted to immediately flee and find a pair of cigarette pants or Breton top to comfort me. However, I am not afraid to tell you that I am sort of in love with the whole Grunge Glam/Glam Grunge (WHATEVER!) trend. It appeals to me in the same way at 80s Rocker Chic did last summer. I love the mixing of metals, the darker make-up and yup, wearing lots of black, just like I did the first time Grunge was big. I styled up my latest look with this Gold Petal Necklace from Color by Amber. … [Read more...]

Is a Mud Run For You?

Mud Runs by victoriamason on Polyvore Last week, I wrote an fitness post about mud runs on Social Moms and a few days later I was asked if I wanted to talk further about the topic. Typically, the answer would be no. As many of my friends have waded the muddy waters and climbed over walls I have stayed away from such runs. The idea of having to pack extra clothes, and basically scale a wall or submerge myself in mud as I belly crawl under wire did not appeal to any part of me. … [Read more...]

Get in Shape, Girl!

I will admit that it has been hard this week to get in a good workout. Some weeks are just like that, but it is important to me to get back up the next day and try again. It may be 10 minutes one day and then a full run or actual HIIT workout or maybe just Pilates in my bedroom but I did it. I got out there. I was active. I took the time for myself to stay strong. To me, it keeps me sane and makes me a better wife and mother.   I'm starting something new with some Quick Fit Tips! Check it out and I hope you like them! Feel free to ask questions, start a conversation, offer your own tips and Subscribe to my channel! … [Read more...]
