Whatcha Wearing Wedensday- Sunshine & Rays

I write this on another day of school closures due to even more snow. It is safe to say that the dose of brilliant sunshine I just had was just what the doctor ordered. Time to get away and let go of the daily grind is always needed. I love tiny trips like this so much because it is often the best time for me to let go of emails, work deadlines and let my brain just go wherever it needs to without distraction. The best ideas often come from these trips. While H was in seminars and break-out sessions I was sleeping in, running by palm trees and reading magazines that were previously in a holding pattern on my nightstand. In other words, total bliss. … [Read more...]

Whatcha Wearing Wednesday & Beauty Bites

Disclosure: TMC was not paid for this post. Products received are for review purposes only.  Opinions are TMC's only.   Oh the weather outside is frightful... Sing it with me!! My Facebook feed keeps showing that everyone in my surrounding area is about to collectively lose their mind when it comes to Old Man Winter. My status updates are getting dangerously close to a last woman standing scenario. … [Read more...]

At 8

Last week I walked into your room, which is now your own little world, and as I stepped over the Lego creations, workbooks left open, abandoned paper dolls and bits of American Girl paraphernalia I saw just how big you have grown in such a small space of time.  I thought about how eight years ago your father and I were enjoying our last bit of time as a twosome eating  out numerous times sans baby carrier and diaper bag.  We had no idea what we were doing and I remember toasting to your one month birthday because you had survived our inept first month of parenting. Rollin' with my homies   TD, you have grown into a sweet, thoughtful girl who shows joy through maniacal laughter, wild eyes and a request for immense amounts of sugar.  You are half UniKitty  and the rest … [Read more...]

Running the Distance while battling Lyme Disease

This fitness feature guest post is by Amy Pope Fitzgerald of the blog, Twinglesmom. Read her triumphant and truly inspiring story about living with Lyme disease while being a Mom and runner.   I am ultra marathoner living with chronic Lyme disease. When Lyme first invaded my body, I was in my mid 20’s with my entire life ahead of me. I do not recall being bit by a tick or finding a bulls eye rash on my body. I woke up one day and felt paralyzed, scared and wasn’t sure if I would see my 30’s. … [Read more...]

Beauty Love of the Week- Jason Naturals

Disclosure: TMC was not paid for this post. Products received are for review purposes only. Opinions are TMC's only. I'm always trying to find new products that help us continue to live green, work with our budget and actually work. I've been using Jason Naturals for a few years, ever since they landed on the shelves at my local grocery store in 2007, and I continue to go back to them. The company has been perfecting the art of natural skin, hair, sun and oral care since 1959, after all. I love that the lotions and creams are paraben free, there are no artificial colors or dyes or perfumes either. It's a good business and some of our favorite products are right here. … [Read more...]

Whatcha Wearing Wednesday- Checked Shirt & Jeans

I might have to talk about the weather again and I'm sorry.  I am so OVER wearing boots it is insane.  I kind of want to hurl them off my back deck right about now.  BUT- it's cold.  Like getting 7-10 inches of snow cold and I need to actually be warm versus looking like a fool, a stylish fool, wearing flats and heels with uncovered ankle bits.  Some say suffer for fashion, but as a mom of three who is very active that just doesn't work. So here we are.  Day to day style. Easy, warm and suitable to my life while still looking put together.  Plus, I got a new 'do that makes me feel like warm weather is fast on the horizon. … [Read more...]

3 Outfit Inspirations for Valentine’s Day

HEarts by victoriamason featuring a boxy t shirt   Need or want to wear something cute this Valentine's Day?  Me too!  I've put together some quick, easy to wear looks that can work for date night, work and just about anywhere. Let's take a look! P.S. I would basically die right about now if I could wear an outfit that didn't involve boots of some sort.  To think we might have 7-10 inches of fresh snow tomorrow into Thursday just about crushes the idea of patent leather red flats or heels for Valentine's Day.  … [Read more...]

What We Are Reading This Month

Disclaimer: TMC was not paid for this post. These are books we are reading on our own with the exception of Homemade Cleaners and Rainbow Loom Madness, which are not sponsored but review items. Opinions on all items are TMC's only.   I've said it before and I will say it again. We are a reading house.  There are books on tops of counters, sideboards, coffee tables, night stands and yes, the bookcases.  Magazines, newspapers, kindles and tablets along with real paper books litter every room of our house and it isn't too difficult to find someone reading at any given time.  I love it. I wouldn't have it any other way.  That being said, we go through A LOT of books all the time and at a rapid rate.  Here's some of what we are reading right now.  … [Read more...]

Beauty Love of the Week- Hot Designs Nail Art Pens

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. Products received are for review purpose only. Opinions are TMCs only.       Hot Designs™ 2-in-1 Nail Art Pens launched just this month in Walmart stores all over the country.   And if you have a kid like mine middle one, then you know about almost every SEEN ON TV product sold.  From the same company as Hot Buns and Hot Huez, Hot Designs is a fun packet polishes and pens that make DIY nail art a no brainer. What I love about the Hot Designs™ 2-in-1 Nail Art Pens ($14.99) is the fine tip pen on one end and the nail polish on the other end.  You can paint the nails one shade and them glam, style or polka dot them up afterwards with the pen.  It's so easy my girls got into right away.  We had fun making pink … [Read more...]
