What I Wore Wednesday

It was a busy week and I was feeling a bit more like dressing up due to the warm weather. Whether I was going to Open House at preschool, going to numerous doctor appointments or just working from home I wanted to put in a bit of effort. I also included the sweet bracelet I won from Style Elixir by KnottyGal. Come see! … [Read more...]

5 Steps to Amazing Arms

I try not to make New Year's resolutions  because the idea just makes me cranky. Yet, there is always something lurking in the back of my mind that I want to accomplish or try for during the year.  This year my secret goal was "Michelle Obama" arms.  After seeing the changes in my back and arms from a summer doing ME, I wanted more.  It's a real work in progress that shows me just how much dedication it takes to get those sculpted biceps and triceps but I'm lovin' it so far.  But I need some help so I talked to fitness experts and yes, celebrity trainers, Jennifer Devilliers and Jolie Kobrinsky, co-founers of The Prime Method.  Using five exercises and taking about 4 weeks they  have helped stars get toned and red carpet ready.  I wanted in.  … [Read more...]

What I Wore Wednesday- The London Times Edition

I am all about simplicity.  When I dress it is sometimes hard for me to go beyond my comfort zone of solid colors and certain silouettes.  Accessories are a whole other story.  London Times Fashion asked me to check out their gorgeously well-made and affordable dresses (think weddings to daywear to nights out) and I decided this was my time to break free from the norm. … [Read more...]

The Great Room Swap

Spiderman says, "With great power comes great responsibility."  I say, "With three girls comes lots of screaming."  The last few months seemed to have more decibels added daily than I could tolerate.  I felt like the walls of our home might fall down and the neighbors were about to call for intervention.  I was glad the cold spring was keeping our windows shut.  All three girls decided that they were not happy with their current rooming situation.  The Fifth Element no longer wanted to be in her nursery room alone.  TD and The Comedian were sick of each others faces and habits and yet once bedtime rolled around they all wanted to sleep together.  Except it was more like round 18 of screamfest 2013 complete with body slams off the top bunk.  To say that there was a lot of fighting, … [Read more...]

Where’s Mummy?

SPRING! It's finally sprung! I feel like after a few false starts that spring might finally be here! Thank God because I'm about ready to torch half the clothes in my closet from boredom. I'm ready to break out something lighter and fresh. … [Read more...]

What I Wore Wednesday!

Let's call this edition 'Museum Day' wiww. I was running around town doing the necessary errands, lunching alone and then finding some quiet time to hit up an exhibit on domestic life in the Gilded Age.  I wanted comfort with a bit of style because it was cold, there was a lot of walking and yet, I had no kids with me.  … [Read more...]

Upping My Game & Finding New Challenges

Spring break last week provided me with more opportunities to work out, read books about this first British female to summit K2, which helped me to be more productive than I could of ever imagined. I was halfway through the week and realized, "I've worked out every day! YES!" And I rocked that routine mixing it up with ME, running and weights everyday but Sunday when we traveled. I typically don't go to the gym at night with the kids but last week I said, "Screw it!" It's the witching hour in our house at that point and if I just plan enough, meaning dinner made ahead of time, I can get to my favorite class (Metabolic Effect) and be done and the kids have a blast at the gym's Kidz Klub (don't get me started on that spelling) every time we go they think it is like going to a birthday … [Read more...]

What I Wore Wednesday

This edition should be titled, "The Meeting that Never Was". Or I just couldn't find a spot. I had a meeting in the city. A lunch/speaker thing to go to and leaving myself about 20 minutes for parking was clearly not enough. I drove and circled and circled and drove and guess what? No parking. Then I got stuck behind a delivery truck who was having similar issues. Forty minutes later I gave it up and decided to move on, get lunch and get some work done. At least I got to rock some cigarette pants though.  Take a look! … [Read more...]

Getting Bold for Spring

Yesterday, was one of those days that just called for a happy dance. Things were lining up and despite some small setbacks I didn't get flustered or spun up. Maybe that gratitude journal is working, right Janine?  How do I celebrate a series of good events, small victories and overall happiness?  Ok, this time it was not with absinthe or champagne or erm, both.  … [Read more...]
