2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited

Source: Hyundai.com When people find out that I review cars they immediately ask about luxury and sports cars.  When I tell them my latest is more every day like the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited they sometimes act let down. That's a mistake.  It's the every day car that makes our commute worthwhile.  It is cars like the Elantra that get us where we need to go and don't let us down with temperamental behavior, but instead consistently keep performing day in and day out.  We don't give these cars a second thought but that's partly what is so right about them. Redesigned for 2017 the Hyundai Elantra Limited arrived at my door with all the features this car can possess.  With more power than a Corolla (147 horsepower) and the hands-free Smart Trunk feature, like the luxury sedan the … [Read more...]

Swoon-Worthy Pink Off the Shoulder Top

There isn't anything sweeter than a cute pink top like this one.  When I saw it on Johanna, from 101 Things I Love, I couldn't even think straight. It was so damn perfect I knew it had to be mine. Getting stronger each day I decided to throw on a bracelet my daughter made for me to remind me of all the reasons I need to rest, take care of myself and keep getting better. These black fringe sandals with tassel ties are not only gorgeous to look at but actually comfortable to wear. My Anti-Aging Hair Care Routine with Women’s Lilyhair®

A few years back I noticed something was going on with my hair. You could see through it. My hair stylist was concerned. I was frustrated. My fine hair wasn't going to go back to being thick with just a new 'do either. The truth? I'm getting older. I needed a foolproof anti-aging hair care routine fast. That's where Lilyhair® Foam comes into play.  Because let's face it.  Hair thinning isn't uncommon. I've talked about it with my girlfriends before. Did you know that up to 42% of women will notice some hair loss in their lifetime and many of them will see hair thinning after age 30.  That is totally me. For me that means starting the day with a dose of Women’s ROGAINE® Foam after shampooing with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner.  I can add it without worrying about my hair … [Read more...]

Celebrate the Little Things

The Fourth of July is almost here and it is time to celebrate the little things! Like cute striped dresses from my most recent Trunk Club box or the fact that I think the fog of illness I've been dealing with most of this month has finally lifted.  That right there, is REALLY a reason to celebrate. This cocktail dress was so spot on that I squealed the minute I opened the giant Trunk Club box and laid eyes on it. Not going to lie but this month has been hell.  I'm looking trimmer than before but that is what extreme pain and meds that take away your appetite will do.  I would not wish the "lyme disease/pain diet" on anyone.  This illness, which we think we caught early enough, if all caps FUNKY.  It makes you depressed and irritable because the pain is so strong and the fatigue … [Read more...]

2016 Kia Sedona SX-L

Source: Kiausa.com The 2016 Kia Sedona SX-L seats seven passengers, offers a dashboard designed with the driver in mind and is a slightly better version than its 2015 redesigned model.  How did it perform for a woman who has always been loathe to drive this family friendly mode of transportation?  Let's find out! Source: Victoria Mason I have a theory about minivans.  It's a new one because despite having three kids and tons of activities we have stuck to our SUV.  Not only do I love it, but H and I made a pact back in our early days of dating that we would never buy a minivan.  Never.  Yet, I really wanted someone to give me on to test drive. My friends adore them.  Would I?  No one dared to send one, it seemed.  Until earlier this month when Kia stepped up to the plate with the … [Read more...]

Summer Gems with Garnet Hill

*Disclosure: TMC was not compensated for this post.  Products received are for review purposes only. Opinions are 100% my own.   A Rhode Island specialty: the clamcake Growing up in the southern part of Rhode Island meant a lot of things.  Summer was a golden time abundant with summer gems.  Pristine beaches punctuated with salty air that blew warm and damp after long frigid winters.  Everything tastes better in summertime, am I right? One of my favorite parts of summer in Rhode Island was and still is the crunchy on the outside doughy and soft on the inside: clamcake.  Fry up the white cornmeal mixture tossed with quahogs (that's a clam to you non-RI folks) and add a little bit of salt before noshing.  Bliss! To me, it is a bite of summer each and every time I eat one.  Now that I … [Read more...]

Making a Break for It

Source: thebellemethod.com It's been brewing in the back of my brain and at the forefront of my heart for a long time now. I need to start making a break for it. For a few months there's been this cadence thrumming along telling me that I need to take time some time off.  That what is really important is for me to slow down.  To take the summer off (OK, maybe not the WHOLE summer) and just be with my family, stop feeling run down and just be more present, which sounds like a whole lot of BS, but it is true. #simplify #icantbelieveijusthashtaggedthat #bless   Truthfully, it scares the living daylights out of me.  I've never done it. I've been blogging and working from home for 10 years now and I can't quite wrap my brain around how this will work but... Source: … [Read more...]

May the Course Be With You

*Disclaimer: TMC was not paid for this post. Affiliate links are embedded and compensation may be received as a result of purchases and/or clicks. Opinions are 100% my own. Early morning, post-workout pics just for you! "May the course be with you." I hear that faint Obi-Wan voice in my head every time I run a race.  It was pretty perfect that one of my friends gave me that very tank by Raw Threads for my birthday.   I've been on a fairly serious fitness kick the last month or so.  I am straight up ADDICTED to 15- minute daily Betty Rocker workouts (thanks, Facebook!).  She's too energetic for me when I start the work out but by the end I'm smiling and so happy I checked in for the  day.  I've noticed major results too.  It's fifteen minutes. I have that, and only that … [Read more...]
