Ford & OPI OH MY!

You all know how much I love mixing fashion with cars. They are two of my big loves that go together like peanut butter and chocolate like on this peanut butter cookies recipe or birthdays and cake. That's why I'm so excited to be teaming up with Ford for their collaboration with OPI for nail colors inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang. … [Read more...]

Maximized

The Maxi dress is out now, right? Because I finally wore one. For the longest time I refused. Even when so many of my friends needled me about the benefits of the Maxi's charm, comfort and ease. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm not tall enough and I have curves, I told myself. I finally picked one out.  The nice people over at East & Lo asked me if I wanted to check out their styles. I chose the Striped Maxi Dress in White & Black.   I was really excited to wear it and dress up a bit after a weekend of being covered in paint and DIY debris. Folks, the red walls in my living room and dining room are no more!  TD's room has been reborn with a white and aqua painted loft bed, which may include a mattress from that serta vs.sealy blog, where the closet was turned … [Read more...]

Best Look of the Link Up & Shoe Friday

I'm still reeling from the fact that it is August.  AUGUST!  It's like a month of Sunday's.  Next, the light will be changing and cool breezes will caress our shoulders and we'll be all about boleros or something to stay warm.  Remember boleros?  I'm still not ready for those things to come back. My jam-packed weekend, which my Instagram account shows about half of what H and I tackled in DIY projects this weekend, started off with a few trips to the paint store and being featured on my friend Jodi's blog, Jodifur , for her weekly feature, Shoe Friday. … [Read more...]

GUYS! Look!! It's so clean, so easy, so pretty! TMC has a whole new face! I'm so excited about it and a little nervous. Is it fancy enough? Is it too simple? Is it missing something that in my excitement I totally missed? I really want to hear what you think of this new look!  It's all thanks to Aubrey Kinch on her design and Chelsea from Olive & Ivy for working on the backend.  It all came together beautifully and without a hitch. Now on to this week's Whatcha Wearing Wednesday! … [Read more...]

Get Your Pretty On: National Lipstick Day

Yup, I'm totally one of those women who feels naked and just a bit wrong if I leave the house without lipstick.  Last week, by a series of unfortunate events I forgot all my make-up at home when I went to the gym.  After showering, I reached into my gym bag and there wasn't even a lip balm to be found.  I was slightly horrified but then went about my day.  I survived but I kept touching my lips throughout the day missing the feel of a silky gloss, moisturizing balm or pigment-saturated pop of color. … [Read more...]

Go Back to School Healthy

The flyers came slipping out of the Sunday morning paper yesterday, full of brightly colored photos of notebooks, pencils and markers. All shiny and new, ready to be purchased at the lowest marked price. "It's back to school season already!" they shouted. Beckoned really, like a sirens call. I'm not really ready for it. … [Read more...]

The Audi A6 & More Pieces of Me

This week I'm so excited to have Carylee from More Pieces of Me guest posting over here about her new Audi A6! A gorgeous car to be sure and Carylee proves that fashion and cars are a match made in heaven. Hey, everyone! I'm Carylee and I blog over at More Pieces of Me. I recently acquired this gorgeous 2014 Audi A6 Prestige Supercharge Quattro with the black optic package in Daytona Grey. I got excited to try it asap. I was so flattered and excited when Vicky asked me to do a guest post not only about my new car, but about an outfit inspired by the car! Wow! How fun!  … [Read more...]

Style Inspiration: Angelina Jolie

Growing up in New England I was pretty traditional in my color choices. Lots of navy, red, white, khaki and a whole lot of black.  Black was my color pick of every occasion, it is classic and never goes out of style.  It worked with my personality and always made me feel comfortable.  It wasn't exciting but it worked.  As I edged out of my twenties and into my thirties I found a friend was pushed my no color boundaries and suddenly I found myself grabbing yellows, greens and aqua, even light pink to wear on a daily basis.  Honestly, it was scary but also a tiny bit freeing.  As the years past my wardrobe glowed with color.  I reveled in it.  … [Read more...]
