Last week was H and my anniversary, the big 14! We celebrated in true style- I headed to art class with The Comedian and he did dinner, dishes and homework duty with the other two kids. We decided to wait until the weekend to dine out sans kids and I was so excited when I realized that I had this great midi-length dress in my closet that I bought back in March and had never worn. Fall Trend: The Silk Scarf
Back in the day I was all about the scarves. Tied around my neck, worn as a belt or hanging off a purse strap or even belt loop. I loved all shapes, sizes and colors. I spent a lot of money at Echo in high school. If I traveled somewhere I was probably going to bring back a scarf to remember my trip. Fall ‘It’ List
This is the first year that school starts before Labor Day for me or the kids. Growing up in Rhode Island we always went back the Tuesday after the holiday and I swear half those times there was already a frost on the ground. Tanks & Tees
August, my time for tanks and tees is also known as a month of Sunday's. I'm always a bit sad when August rolls around. The light changes, everything seems a bit drier and I know that the carefree days of summer are speeding away. I must make the most of this time in the sun with my family and friends. My back porch beckons. The pool glistens asking for one more afternoon spent watching the girls play while I catch up on my reading. New projects for work, the house and fun call my name. Can we talk about the romper for second? I was hesitant because shorts are not always my best friend but I do dig a nice jumpsuit, so it seems only natural to wear a romper, am I right? Super Hero Summer
It's no secret that I like my super hero movies, comic books and I totally freak out over all things relating to Darth Vader. In fact, I will totally admit that attending Comic Con is on my bucket list. Seriously. I just can't help myself and neither can Hollywood when it comes to creating summer flicks that surround them. Ant Man debuted last week, a new Avengers comes out each summer and DC Comics forever competes with Marvel for box office results. I love it. Summer and super heroes go hand in hand. So does my favorite look from our beach vacation last week. I may not be completely on board with the idea of a capsule wardrobe, I do know that the first thing I would choose to start my capsule would be something with stripes. Weekend Escape
There was a lot of fun on our weekend escape down at the Rivah. The whole family on got together to enjoy some much needed time in the sun and water. I loved being able to spend more time with my nephew and nieces and brother and sister-in-law. It's a rare treat these days with both our families smack dab in the middle of raising three little ones. I managed to get a few pictures from our last day there. This dress from Old Navy is super comfortable and soft. It travels well too! I think if I get it in another color it will be a size medium as I like a bit more draping and sometimes their clothes shrink. When I pack, I have a shoe rule.
