Just back from a week long vacation spent in the sun, at the pool and on the beach, I have no inspiring outfits to show from the whole trip. It was just me and my bathing suits each day with various pairs of aviator, Jackie O sunglasses and hats put on for cover. I may look tan but it is really just one giant freckle glommed together despite SPF slathered on from head to toe. I wore the heck out of that swimsuit! I packed at least two others but found this one just made me happy each time I wore it. It wasn't until the second time that I realized it was a yellow polka-dot bikini. Beach day! This week I went out of my comfort zone and hit the red carpet with H on Friday night. What started out as a regular ol' week ended with us getting dressed up in something a little beyond the norm. These last days of school are just F-U-Double L, FULL. The kids are worn out from special activities, I'm worn out from crafts, baking and end of the year events. At the same time I am a little sad. Last night The Comedian had Open House at her school's Summer Science program. It was bittersweet because it is her last year at that school. A place that has very much become a part of our world in the last five years. When TD's first teacher remarked that our youngest, The Fifth Element, is the same age that TD was when she started out there I almost shed a few tears. Onward! It can be a bit of a juggle, a lesson in scheduling and patience to have a night out with a friend when you have three kids under 7 who all have activities, a significant other who travels for work quite frequently and a life of your own. Long ago I bought this royal purple dress and thought it would make the perfect throw on and go sundress. Meh.
