What I Wore Wednesday

How am I already thinking about packing for Thanksgiving?  Oh right! It is next week!  So yes, I'm putting together outfits that pack well, coordinate and don't take up too much space and trying not to include 18 pairs of shoes and bracelets.  Did I mention there are three little cherubs to pack for as well. Find out What I Wore Wednesday now- … [Read more...]

The Gift of Giving- Operation Christmas Child

For as long as I can remember I have been participating in Operation Christmas Child through my church. It is a great cause and way to give something to others in a different way that goes beyond donating money and time. Operation Christmas Child is all about giving your time, showing compassion and creating something special for a child in another country, like Peru or the Dominican Republic, so that they can have just some of the small things they need. Whether it's a box loaded with tiny toys or remote plane toys like Delta Ray RTF or toiletries and socks you are giving the gift of your time spent choosing the items, packing the box with love and care while providing a smile and taking care of a need all at the same time. Operation Christmas Child does my heart and soul good. This … [Read more...]

What I Wore Wednesday

The week started off like this.  Hurricane Sandy, a sick husband, no school and then me getting sick.  YAY!  I tried to let fashion and style prevail no matter what.         Mossimo blouse & tank Skinny jeans American Eagle peweter flats … [Read more...]

No nonsense about Fashion

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of No nonsense.  All opinions are 100% mine.  Most of my days consist of working from home.  When I worked in an office I was fairly conservative in my sense of style.  I wore a lot of basics and didn't play around with color or accessories very much.  Working from home has given me more of a creative outlet and while I may always be no-nonsense with work I have a created a bit of whimsy and more style in my daily wear. Look #1 … [Read more...]

A Vote for Confidence

It would be real easy to say that this blog is not political. What with the What I Wore Wednesday posts and constant blather about nail polish but it really can't be denied.   I have a child named after one President. His photo hangs on her bedroom wall right next to this sign in her  window.  Her sister who sleeps in the bunk below her is named after a suffragist imprisoned by President Wilson in a jail right near our home. Her middle name is Presidential too. Honestly, if I could have gotten away with naming the third kid Cady Nixon Stanton or Lincoln Sanger I would have done that too. … [Read more...]

Three Things

1. I had to stop The Comedian from eating the sticker off her apple. Apparently she does it all the time. I swear that kid is part Tiger shark. If you looked inside her I wouldn't be surprised if you found an old shoe, a few plastic bags and a license plate. 2. The Merryville Animatronices strike again! Days people, days. It is in my head in the worst way. Complete with the "oooaah!" at the end. 3. This. Proof that spending time on too many nail blogs makes it impossible to ever pain my nails just one color at a time.  I also need to stop doing my nails in the dark. … [Read more...]
