Braving the Elements

Spring may not officially be here but the weather has certainly turned. Each day brings a new surprise. It's sunny and warm! It's rainy! It's freezing cold and rainy! That was the case when I stepped outside for this week's outfit pic. It ain't fabulous but it's real and that's life. Braving the elements as rain drips down my back. The tiny photographer was jumping around to miss being hit by the big drops of rain. This outfit felt so spring-like and I couldn't wait to be outside without socks or boots! I totally had to shop my closet for lighter clothes. Since the basement flooded I can't get to the storage space with my spring and summer stuff that I packed up to move. So what! Who cares? SHOP THE LOOK Mint Jeans (old) (similar) (similar)/Forever 21 Black … [Read more...]
A Little Love
The House Filled with Love & Rainbows by #TheAG I feel like the song lyrics, "with a little love we can work it out." have been a chant in my head for the last six months. Mainly when it comes to our house. We knew the road to bringing our new home back to her former glory was going to be a long one. Five months of highs and lows of buying and fixing up a short sale (hello, mold remediation and demo!) were exciting and at times highly frustrating. It all worked out in the end and we moved in after almost two straight 24/7 months of making repairs. We unpacked and settled in. We hit the six week mark last Thursday, woke up and found the basement to be in ankle-deep water. And the snow? It came down. As we frantically dried documents all around our house, getting them crisp … [Read more...]
2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport AWD 2.0T
Source: Victoria Mason Some rides are worth getting excited for. The 2015 Santa Fe Sport with AWD from Hyundai is one of those vehicles. Right away I was drawn to the Canyon Copper color that sparkled in the sun while the dual panel sun roof beckoned me to take a ride and enjoy a day where we finally had blue skies. Source: Hyundaiusa.com Style-wise the Santa Fe Sport is ready for its close-up. I reviewed this car in the past (non-Sport model) and liked it and it has only improved over time. That's what Hyundai is all about these days. They made a crossover vehicle that performs well, is a pleasure to drive and has a dose of fun included in the Sport model. The interior is roomy without taking up too much space and really comfortable and well-appointed. Inside the Santa Fe … [Read more...]
Pink Infusion

One of my favorite parts of blogging is reading other people's blogs. Seeing what you are creating and sharing inspires, entertains and excites me. I was feeling really cranky about winter and the state of my closet when I began reading Rachelle's blog, Pink Sole, and her LPD post. So simple, so bright and just the dose of color I needed to give my day a better outlook on life. Who cares that we didn't have school AGAIN today?! Swipe on some bright pink lipstick and get on with your day, even if it is filled with winter's slush. … [Read more...]
ColorProof My Workout
When it comes to keeping up with my fitness I can be pretty serious. I eat right and give my body the fuel it needs per workout and pack healthy snacks to get through my day. I carry water with me everywhere to stay hydrated and healthy. If I'm running I'll wear my running shoes instead of my cross-trainers. It's all about using what you need and meeting the demands for that level of exercise. That means that even the products I use pre and post-workout have to work hard too. ColorProof 'DrySpell' Color Protect Dry Shampoo is my go-to product on the mornings I head to the gym and don't have time to wash my hair but just grab a quick shower after. I use it on the days I have to run out the door to get the kids to school and run errands but have no time to dry and style my hair. It's a … [Read more...]
Marching to Spring
It's March! Can I get an Amen?! That's twenty days left until spring! Surely warmer days are just around the corner. They have to be because I'm so over everything in my closet. Does anyone else get this particular itch that feels almost physical each March? As a teenager I would get particularly moody this time of year and want to toss everything in my closet out and never see it again. So dramatic! Now, I just want to pack away the boots and sweaters and wear my flats and sandals. No more layers, just bright shades of greens, yellows, pinks and vibrant blues. Mixing black and white look fresh and toes can show off their polish once again. Here are a few of the items on my must-have/want list for spring. … [Read more...]

Signature Style
Having a signature style, something that it totally you, is important. It brings confidence when dressing and making decisions when styling anything from you to your home from the living room to your room that can have a big and organized wardrobe thanks to Mr Wardrobe services as well. 2015 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring AWD

Source: Mazdausa.com I'm sometimes reluctant to get car reviews in the dead of winter. Not only can the car get super dirty on the inside and outside, there is also an extra car to shovel out (#firstworldbloggerproblem) but I worry that I might do something to it in inclement weather. It's all in the name of writing the review though, right? … [Read more...]
