Navy Blazer Two Ways

The Navy Blazer. It is one of those timeless pieces that every woman's closet needs. This Spring I decided to add one that wasn't wintry, like my velvet thrift store find, to one that was good for all year round. In just one week I have worn my navy blazer two ways. The possibilities are endless. These looks are just the beginning. … [Read more...]

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Giveaway!

Disclosure: TMC was not paid for this post. Products received are for post/review purposes only. Opinions are TMC's only. I must admit that I love the circus. It was such a highlight to me as a kid. I can still remember going with my cousin to see our first Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey show at about age 8. We were in awe when they dimmed the lights and all our red and blue swirling flashlights came alive in one arena and the show really started. It felt like such a special night. I'm really excited to share it with my girls again this year. Another year older but still enchanted with the spectacle that each year brings. This year should really amaze them too! After all, the theme is Built to Amaze! … [Read more...]

Spring Needs & Wants

Hey! Guess what? It snowed. Again. It better be the last snowfall. It was super great fun because the first flakes started to drift down just as I was heading out the door to my friend's 30th birthday party. She was having a wine tasting with a sommelier, cake and lots of yummy cheeses and even some gluten-free crackers for me. She also had a mechanical bull rental for entertainment, which everyone enjoyed. It had been far too long since I had seen her and I needed to make that hour trek into the country. As I hit the back roads, the trees were already decorated in white. Deer crossed the roads in groups of one, two and then six. It was a bit magical. I was enchanted and really happy I ventured out, even if an inch or two was already on the ground at her place. … [Read more...]

New Jillian Michaels Workouts and Getting Ready for Spring

I've been in full on spring cleaning mode the last ...oh wait. I've been purging our house since January 2.  It's like a fever.  Being cooped up I keep finding things to get rid of, donate or sell.  It might be an addiction.  I've been really bad about stocking up and working out though.  Blame it on total dust bunny eradication exhaustion or um, general winter malaise. I couldn't take it any longer and after a friend mentioned on Facebook that she would be trying out the latest Jillian Michaels DVD. I knew it was just the kick in the pants I was looking for and desperately needed. … [Read more...]

Jeans & White Shirt

Welcome to Whatcha Wearing Wednesday!  Spring is beginning to show its sweet face around here. At long last!  The days are growing longer and I can actually hear the birds chirping and see bulbs pushing through the ground around my yard.  Every time I see a little green shoot I get excited and yell to the closest person, "Hey! Look! Green!  SPRING!" My neighbors largely ignore me and think I'm a freak. Spring always makes me think of classics.  That's where today's look comes from, the always chic white shirt and jeans. Black heels are always an elegant touch. … [Read more...]

Disclaimer: TMC was not paid for this post. Products received are for review purposes only.  Opinions are TMC's only. When the Colleen Rothschild Discovery Set arrived I had been real hesitant to test and try new skincare products.  In the last six months I have finally found a set of products that cured my bizarre case of acne. Something numerous visits and creams, gels and lotions PLUS pills could not do!  I didn't want to mess with the fact that for months (after over a year) I had clear, smooth skin again.  … [Read more...]

Whatcha Wearing Wedensday- Sunshine & Rays

I write this on another day of school closures due to even more snow. It is safe to say that the dose of brilliant sunshine I just had was just what the doctor ordered. Time to get away and let go of the daily grind is always needed. I love tiny trips like this so much because it is often the best time for me to let go of emails, work deadlines and let my brain just go wherever it needs to without distraction. The best ideas often come from these trips. While H was in seminars and break-out sessions I was sleeping in, running by palm trees and reading magazines that were previously in a holding pattern on my nightstand. In other words, total bliss. … [Read more...]

Whatcha Wearing Wednesday & Beauty Bites

At 8

Last week I walked into your room, which is now your own little world, and as I stepped over the Lego creations, workbooks left open, abandoned paper dolls and bits of American Girl paraphernalia I saw just how big you have grown in such a small space of time.  I thought about how eight years ago your father and I were enjoying our last bit of time as a twosome eating  out numerous times sans baby carrier and diaper bag.  We had no idea what we were doing and I remember toasting to your one month birthday because you had survived our inept first month of parenting. Rollin' with my homies   TD, you have grown into a sweet, thoughtful girl who shows joy through maniacal laughter, wild eyes and a request for immense amounts of sugar.  You are half UniKitty  and the rest … [Read more...]

Running the Distance while battling Lyme Disease

This fitness feature guest post is by Amy Pope Fitzgerald of the blog, Twinglesmom. Read her triumphant and truly inspiring story about living with Lyme disease while being a Mom and runner.   I am ultra marathoner living with chronic Lyme disease. When Lyme first invaded my body, I was in my mid 20’s with my entire life ahead of me. I do not recall being bit by a tick or finding a bulls eye rash on my body. I woke up one day and felt paralyzed, scared and wasn’t sure if I would see my 30’s. … [Read more...]
