American Girl Doll Giveaway

Taking a little break from fashion, fitness and cars I bring you something that the little people in my house are passionate about right now.  American Girl dolls and all that the brand encompasses.  We are such a big #AG house with three girls under the age of 10.  Each time a new doll debuts it is a major full-on squealing deal. Phone calls are made to friends. Hours are logged online looking at each and ever accessory.  It's like me with my online shopping habit.  So, I'm super excited to announce I am giving away the newest American Girl doll, Maryellen Larkin. I love this message.  It goes so well with American Girl's new initiative #AGForAllGirls that asks girls to unite together and take a pledge that they will work together in all ways and support each other rather than … [Read more...]

Burgundy & Mustard

Last week I talked about fall's hot colors- burgundy, mustard and olive. They go well with everything. It was totally on my brain and Old Navy's when I stepped into the store last Friday and picked up this lightweight burgundy-wine colored sweater. I love the dolman-style fit that works well with a pencil skirt, my old standby mustard jeans or any kind of denim. I can't wait to pair it with wide-leg dark denim too. As much as I wanted to with this casual look, high-quality pictures just could not happen this week.  I didn't even have time for well-placed instagram shots.  That's life! Stacked rings can make a statement. Leopard is the new neutral.  I love it more than ever. The FABulous Journey

It's our third installment in the interview series, this week it is a FABulous Journey with Shellie from The FABulous Journey. While she says her blog is all about fashion, fitness and fulfillment for the 40 and over set she shows that these are parts of our life we crave and want to update or maintain at any age. Her site is a calm and entertaining refuge in a sea of blogs that can sometimes overwhelm. 1. You blog about fashion and fitness on a regular basis. What do you find most fun and fulfilling? Are they one in the same topic? Fashion and fitness are two aspects of life that I derive great joy and satisfaction from. I believe both pursuits add to my life and boost my confidence. Fashion enhances my personality, while fitness bolsters my health and mood. Yes, I guess you … [Read more...]

I’m Obsessed with Fall

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with fall (we are not even going to kid ourselves and put a "kind of obsessed" in there).  I mean, I walk outside my front door and start singing, "It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year...." on a daily basis and I don't even drink SBUX PSL's.  Fall makes me want to craft and I'm not crafty.  It makes me want to fill the house with baked goods and pass them out to friends and it makes me want to SHOP!  Cozy knits, fall boots and booties, ponchos, sweater dresses and new jeans! I WANT IT ALL!  It's like I have to get my own back to school shopping in for myself. Which makes me think of school.  And when I think of school, I always think about how much I loved shopping the J.Crew catalog in high school.  Well, guess what?  J.Crew is having a great sale … [Read more...]

The Neo-Victorian

Last week was H and my anniversary, the big 14! We celebrated in true style- I headed to art class with The Comedian and he did dinner, dishes and homework duty with the other two kids. We decided to wait until the weekend to dine out sans kids and I was so excited when I realized that I had this great midi-length dress in my closet that I bought back in March and had never worn.   Neo-Victorian Trend by victoriamason featuring pointy-toe pumps SHOP THE LOOK DailyLook Pleated A-line Midi Dress/Nine West Burgundy Suede Heels (similar)/Jet Bead Studs (similar)/Jet Bead Dana Buchman Bracelet /Python Envelope Clutch (similar) Even better when I realized that my less is more style desire for the day meant I could also work in a bit of the Neo-Victorian trend that I love this … [Read more...]

Fall 2015 Colors

Nope, you are not mistaken. I have fall on the brain. It starts next week after all. One of the things I absolutely love about this year's popular fall 2015 colors is that so much of it just comes naturally to the season. Olive greens mixed with mustard yellow and burgundy compliment each other as well as mimicking the colors we see outside.   Fall 2015 Colors by victoriamason featuring 7 For All Mankind Not only do the colors have longevity (we've seen them for a while now) they work well together. You can mix and match them and really work your closet. Add some navy or charcoal gray to that mustard shade and don't forget that the light pink that is so popular and unexpected this fall can make an excellent accent for accessories too. If pink isn't your color then burgundy … [Read more...]

Max Jeans for Fall

I love a good collaboration with a fellow fashion blogger but when it comes in a pair and makes me stretch my fashion comfort level, then it is even better. Max Jeans has some fun looks for the upcoming fall season.  Whether it is a new pair of boyfriend jeans that are more fitted or you want to layer your look Max Jeans has some great options. I received three pieces and styled them with cooler temps in mind.  Two other bloggers, Julie and Andrea received the same three items and you can see different versions of the same jeans, jacket and vest done styled by them. Fall Trend: The Silk Scarf

Back in the day I was all about the scarves.  Tied around my neck, worn as a belt or hanging off a purse strap or even belt loop.  I loved all shapes, sizes and colors. I spent a lot of money at Echo in high school. If I traveled somewhere I was probably going to bring back a scarf to remember my trip.  While infinity scarves have hogged the limelight the last few seasons a new scarf style has demanded we take another look at it and it isn't the long and skinny 70's style scarf either.  The silk scarf. That sweet little square, my absolute favorite of all the scarves, is back!
