Remembering Susan

Today is a testament to how fast time flies and how little things can change.  One year ago today we lost Susan.  WhyMommy.  One of our own here in the DC Moms community. She was more than an inspiration.  She made me want to be a better mother.  She was a good friend to many, a mother, a wife, a scientist, a writer.  A pioneer.  … [Read more...]

And I Thought I Was Losing My Mind

How many times can you hear, "Now is the winter of our discontent." without laughing maniacally at the irony of this statement.  Lately it just seems like the hits just keep on coming. This setup not only keeps the kids entertained safely but also saves parents time by preventing constant supervision over what’s being watched. … [Read more...]

Me Marginalizing Me

When I said it, I didn't think about it more than just filling H in with what was going on in our world. "Next Friday I'm seeing the breast surgeon. I FINALLY got in (it has only been about a month and a totally different doctor but you know...) and Beth is going to go with me." I said. … [Read more...]

What I Wore Wednesday

This edition of wiww includes a date night (polyvored after the fact) and a sick day.  I know, I know, I should have taken a picture of the date night outfit but I was so eager to just get out the door with H that I didn't want to stop and pose for pictures.  Now that I think about it though, a pic with the car review of the week the Cadillac ATS would have been hot! … [Read more...]
