The Stylish & Eco-Friendly Cadillac Escalade Hybrid 2013

Disclaimer: TMC was not paid for this post. Products received are for review purposes only. Opinions are TMC's only. I can't think of a better way to introduce you, my readers, to the newest part of The Mummy Chronicles (TMC) than by debuting the Cars section with the 2013 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid (I know!). Formerly only on my review blog, Mummy's Product Reviews, the car section will be seen here on TMC now. It's about time too!  My love for cars first started here in 2007, so it feels natural to have it come back home. I hope you enjoy reading about the features, likes, dislikes and findings as I continue to explore the world of driving, the auto industry and cars of all shapes and sizes.   I want to hear what you think, love and questions you may have about cars too.  Let's get … [Read more...]

Whatcha Wearing Wednesday

I traveled to Chicago for Blogher 2013 last week and took some pics of a few of my outfits.  I was quite happy that I managed only a carry-on sized bag for the conference and didn't need to use my second duffel that I had packed on the route home.  It was also the first year that I didn't buy anything new to wear to the event.  No costumes, sweet dresses or anything else were needed.  When I mentioned on Twitter that I had packed only two pairs of shoes my friend Jodi declared, "Two pairs of shoes for BlogHer?  You win at life."  Maybe just in packing skills. Travel Day … [Read more...]

The Challenge to Change

Disclosure:  TMC was sponsored by MinuteClinic to attend Blogher 2013.  Reviews are done without compensation and all opinions are my own.  I can't think of a better time to get back into a challenging new workout or change-up one than after a trip. Whether it is for work or vacation your body is ready for something different when you return home.  It might be something you dread at first (ME! I DO!) but if you just push yourself to get started, to put on the clothes, go outside or into the gym to a class you have never tried before, you will discover a new energy that you did not have prior to that workout.  Trust me, it's true.  New energy and exhilaration mixed with exhaustion but still Awesome with a capital 'A'. … [Read more...]

Staying Fit 5 Minutes at a Time

Fall Turkey Trot 2012 I'm running around Chicago, participating in Blogher13 today, hustling a bit here and there and working with the awesome team that is MinuteClinic while finding ways to spread health.  Today's post is brought to you by guest contributor Sara Dawkins and her take on how to stay fit in just a small amount of time.  A little bit can go a long way!  … [Read more...]

Whatcha Wearing Wednesday- Stitch Fix

Is there anything more exciting than a Stitch Fix box delivered to your door? Well, the answer to that is a bit complicated. I LOVE getting that little box in the mail. "Oooh...what's inside?" my brain buzzes. I dream of Breton-striped tops and swishy skirts with cute accessories. I rip open the box and squeal in delight as I sift through the layers of soft and fluttery fabrics, chunky knits and um... long sleeves and sweaters? What the what?! … [Read more...]

Glow Head to Toe & Red Apple Lipgloss Review

If there are two things in this life that I am addicted to in the beauty realm it is lip gloss and sunless tanner.  I carry no less than four shades of lip gloss in my purse at all times. Those ladies have their own bag within in my bag!  As for the sunless tanner, I use it all year round but I really crank up the use in the warm months.  Right now there are probably six different types in my bathroom alone.  If not, I'm a total Casper with a Chanel mind-set (It was Coco herself who made tanning all the rage, no?) On to this week's reviews of Glow Head to Toe tan towels and Red Apple Lipstick lip gloss. … [Read more...]

Summer’s Lovely Reveal- What I’m Loving Right Now

I sometimes think that summer is best described as a case of white mundane mellowing heat punctuated by icy bouts of excitement.  There are those lazy days where you stay in your pajamas or head to the pool.  The kids roam the neighborhood with friends and popsicles are eaten on a regular basis.  Great books are devoured, binge television happens in air-conditioned basements late into the night and to me, it is a time to get creative and discover new things.  In a lackadaisical way I've been busy brewing with ideas, projects and testing new things.  It's a slow process that only summer can offer and I can't help but embrace it and share. Here's what I'm loving right now.  From workouts to books, things for the home and you, it's all good.  Enjoy! … [Read more...]

Whatcha Wearing Wednesday- Summer Days

We've been having a real laid-back life here lately. It's what we need and what summer is all about. I think that if you can grab that time, then go for it. Since a majority of my time is being spent at swim lessons by the pool or hosting kids at my house, I'm not into layering accessories or wearing a whole lot more than shirts and shorts. This happened- … [Read more...]

Kiss My Face Sunscreen & Rescue Beauty Lounge

I'm a bit crazy about sunscreen. I probably have about fifteen bottles of it in my downstairs bathroom cabinet alone. That doesn't account for the girls bathroom or my own upstairs. I like to review it and I use it everyday, all over. It's like being a safety freak. Did I mention I'm that as well? Totally. This week it is all about Kiss My Face Sunscreen and Face Factor for the face and neck. For fun I added in Rescue Beauty Lounge's newest blogger nail polish, Scrangie 2.0 that I'm digging more and more. … [Read more...]
